Gloucestershire captain Michael Klinger will miss their last game of the season, versus Glamorgan in the LV= County Championship at the SWALEC Stadium, to return to Australia.
Klinger, who has led the county to a respectable fourth place in Division Two of the championship with two matches left and the same spot in their Yorkshire Bank 40 group, has to head home for the start of West End Redbacks’ 50-over campaign.
Due to play for the Bristol-based club next year, he has had a highly successful first campaign as Gloucestershire skipper, scoring more than 1,000 runs in both first-class and limited-overs cricket.
Gloucestershire are not in action this week but face Lancashire next week at Bristol before ending against Glamorgan.
