England’s Heather Knight has been named the women’s Twenty20 player of the year in Australia after her fine displays for Tasmania Roar this winter.
Knight’s consistent performances with the bat and ball saw her notch five half-centuries in 10 innings to be the competition’s third-top run-scorer, as well as picking up a healthy six wickets.
She was voted for the award ahead of Australia’s Meg Lanning and England captain Charlotte Edwards, the latter having represented Western Australia.
