Paceman Jack Brooks is still looking to make improvements to his bowling after signing a two-year contract extension at Yorkshire.
The 30-year-old, due to be out of contract at the end of this season, has today committed his future to the White Rose until December 2017.
Brooks has made a huge impression at Headingley since arriving from Northamptonshire in September 2012, playing an integral role in the Tykes’ LV= County Championship-winning campaign in 2014.
After snaring 34 scalps in 11 matches during an injury-hit first season, he responded in style by doubling that tally the following term as Yorkshire ended a 13-year wait for a four-day trophy.
Despite finishing as the second-highest wicket-taker in Division One, Brooks wants to get even better.
The England Lion said: “I’m a pretty confident guy, people who know me quite well will know that. I always back my ability.
“As long as I am taking wickets I will stay in the team. I think that is the exciting thing. If I bowl well, I can take wickets.
“There are still little things you can improve on. My run-rate, probably not going for as many runs, it can be quite frustrating at times getting whacked around and going for boundaries.
“But I don’t want to hold back on that and not take wickets. I deal in wickets, that is what my job is at the end of the day.
“I think it is being a bit more disciplined on line and length. I don’t want to have a defensive mindset. I am an attacking bowler and my job is to take wickets, coach, captain and team-mates know what my role is.

“They know if I am going for runs, I can come off and come back on and take three or four wickets in a spell which I did a few times last season.
“Cut out the frustrating spells, keep hammering away and hope to take those wickets.”
Brooks is the latest in a long line of players to sign new contracts at Yorkshire since the end of last season.
On his new deal, he added: “I am thrilled to have signed a new contract with Yorkshire. I am enjoying my cricket and have had a brilliant 18 months with the club.
"There is a great vibe around the place and I am confident with the quality of players we have here, we can continue to be a force in the game.
"It would be fantastic to repeat our efforts from last season and give it a real good push to retain our title in the County Championship."
Like Brooks, Yorkshire are also aiming to maintain their high standards as they attempt a successful defence of their trophy.
The right-armer admits the team will not be resting on their laurels, adding “Coaches make a big point that we have still got to have that same desire and not be complacent, I’m not.
“I think the main thing is not to be complacent. But I don’t think with this squad of players, the way they are, there is much chance of that. It is a case whether we can hit the form that we did last year, which we are capable of.
“We are going to get the same amount of pressure on us, probably more so as champions. We are not going to get carried away.
“There are some fantastic teams in there and did get run quite close in a lot of games and momentum got us through some games.”

Yorkshire’s hopes of claiming a second successive four-day title have been boosted by the signings of quality overseas players.
Pakistan’s Younus Khan, Australian Aaron Finch and New Zealander Kane Williamson are all set to wear whites this season.
Brooks, who will also line up alongside Glenn Maxwell in the NatWest T20 Blast, said: “Champo cricket looks after itself, we have got quite a settled side.
“Having the overseas players that we have got this year, if they cannot add to the team then we are going to be struggling.
“We don’t want to rely on them, I don’t think we relied on overseas players that much last year anyway. But when they do put performances in, it helps.”
