The ECB Indoor National Club Championship has reached the Last 16 stage as the remaining teams do battle over four Regional Finals around the country.
Canterbury, Derby, Edgbaston and Taunton will each host one of these Regional Finals, with four teams playing in two semi finals and then a final before the four winning side’s book their place in the National Finals at Lord’s on Sunday March 15.
Neyland CC are once again the Welsh representatives and they are hoping to go even further in the competition in 2015 after losing in the National Semi Finals 12 months ago to eventual winners Dearne CC from Yorkshire. First Neyland need to get past Dorset side Stalbridge CC at the South & West Regional Final at Somerset CCC in Taunton, before facing the winner of the South Wilts CC (Wiltshire) and St Austell CC (Cornwall) match.
Sarisbury Athletic CC reached the National Final in 2013 as South & West champions but a shift in competition boundaries sees them travel to Canterbury and Kent CCC to take part in the London & East Regional Final. They will face Essex champions South Woodford CC in the second semi-final, but first Theale & Tilehurst CC from Berkshire will play local side Sandwich Town CC.
Huntingdonshire’s Godmanchester Town CC remain the only team left in the competition that have previously won the Indoor National Club Championship title, in 2010. They will travel to Edgbaston for the Midlands Regional Final hoping to make a return to Lord’s. They will face Bedfordshire’s champions Flitwick CC in the semi-final while the other semi-final line up sees Cutnall Green CC from Worcestershire take on Buckinghamshire’s Wolverton Town CC.
Dearne CC cannot retain their title after they were knocked out in the Yorkshire competition and this season’s Yorkshire champions Sheffield Hallam University CC, who were National Finals runners up in 2009, lost in the previous round to Cherry Willingham CC from Lincolnshire. They are in the first semi-final playing Lancashire qualifiers Egerton CC of the Northern Regional Final at Derbyshire CCC. Tynemouth CC from Northumberland and Sneyd CC from Staffordshire will contest the second semi-final.
Entry to watch all four Regional Finals is free so please go along and support your team.
