Yorkshire director of cricket development Ian Dews is set to take charge of the county’s second XI, succeeding Richard Dawson in the role.
Dawson departed for Gloucestershire in late January, and it has prompted a shake-up within the coaching ranks at the division one champions.
Former Yorkshire captain Anthony McGrath has been appointed coaching consultant, with Richard Damms taking on duties as the new head coach for the academy.
Damms had previously been the senior head coach for Yorkshire women, between 2007 and 2009, and is also an ECB Level Four coach.
The club’s director of cricket Martyn Moxon said: “Following Richard’s departure, I felt it was important to restructure the coaching arm of the club quickly and reward those personnel that have done a fantastic job over recent years.
“I believe that we have one the of best cricket set-ups in the country and it is important for our continued progression as a club, across all aspects of development, that we have some continuity.
“Ian, Richard, and Anthony are all first-class in their respective areas. More importantly, they have the best interests of Yorkshire cricket and have been central to our growth over the past few years.”
