Rilee Rossouw is in line to make his South Africa Test debut after being called up for the remaining two matches of the series against West Indies.

Rossouw will replace Quinton de Kock in the squad, after the latter was ruled out of the series due to an ankle ligament injury suffered in the opening Test.

AB de Villiers deputised as wicketkeeper on day four yesterday at Centurion, as South Africa went on to claim victory by an innings and 220 runs.

Cricket South Africa named their revised squad today as the team prepare for the third Test in Port Elizabeth, set to begin on Boxing Day.

CSA selection convener Andrew Hudson said: “Rilee has been knocking on the door for some time.

Batsman Rilee Rossouw has been impressing selectors in his performances for South Africa A as well as the national limited-overs teams

“He and Temba Bavuma shared a partnership of 343 at a run-rate of almost four to the over in the recent winning series for South Africa A against Australia A.

“The fact that he has also recently represented the Proteas in both the limited-overs formats means that he will integrate easily into the Proteas squad system.”

Primarily a batsman, left-hander Rossouw has played nine one-day internationals for South Africa and scored 145 runs, including a half-century.

He has also turned out thrice in Twenty20 internationals, with a top score of 78 made on debut against Australia in November this year.

De Kock is expected to be out of action for between six and 12 weeks, meaning he will also miss the limited-overs internationals next month.
