Chris Woakes and Joe Root are hot on the heels of leader Moeen Ali in England’s winter FTI MVP rankings.
The all-rounder has seen his 27-point lead after three matches of the one-day international series with Sri Lanka cut to just three by the end of it.
Moeen, opening the innings, managed only 54 runs and three wickets in the final four ODIs, leaving him just ahead of second-placed Woakes, who is one point in front of Root.
His tally of 236 runs, including 21 fours and 12 maximums, came at a strike-rate of 124 per 100 balls while his economy-rate with the ball was 5.15 runs per over.
Woakes enjoyed an impressive tour with the ball, finishing top wicket-taker in the series with 14 at an average of 25.28.
The Warwickshire player, whose second ODI six-wicket haul helped England triumph in the fifth match in Kandy, also displayed his all-round capabilities with scores of 41 and 34 in the final two games.
While Woakes took the most wickets in the rubber, third-placed Root scored the most runs.
The middle-order batsman amassed 367, 22 per cent of his team’s runs, at a stunning average of 73.40.
Root, with 20 fours and a quartet of sixes, struck an unbeaten century and two fifties in his final three innings.
Chris Jordan is 23 points behind Root in fourth after snaring 10 scalps in five outings, conceding just 5.65 runs per over, while Jos Buttler is fifth.
