Moeen Ali has raced ahead in the battle for the winter FTI MVP Rankings following a stunning start to the Sri Lanka one-day series.

Moeen’s outstanding maiden, century in Colombo in the series opener saw him soar ahead of his team-mates before a quickfire 58 in Hambantota consolidated his position at the head of the rankings.

The Worcestershire all-rounder has taken just two wickets in the three games so far, but is well placed to run away with the title if his current form with the bat continues.

Moeen Ali struck his maiden one-day international century in the opening game against Sri Lanka to give him a lead in the FTI MVP rankings

So far in Sri Lanka, Moeen has scored 179 runs at an incredible strike-rate of 134 runs per 100 balls at the top of the order, which puts him comfortably ahead of his nearest challenger, Chris Woakes, in the rankings.

The Warwickshire man has made an impressive start with the ball, taking five wickets so far including 3-41 in yesterday’s win.

Ravi Bopara and Jos Buttler also feature in the list after eye-catching performances, with Bopara just edging out the England wicketkeeper who revelled in his role as match-winner in the third game.

Bopara’s back-to-back fifties and useful bowling in the first two games give him a marginal advantage over the Lancashire gloveman. However Buttler’s stunning knock of 55, along with three catches and a stumping sees him draw level on points with Bopara, although both are some way behind Moeen.
