Shakib Al Hasan claimed match figures of 10-124 as Bangladesh secured a 162-run win over Zimbabwe in Khulna to clinch the three-Test series with a game to spare.

Having resumed day five of the second contest on 201 for five, the Tigers advanced to 248 for nine - an overall lead of 313 - in their second knock before declaring.

All-rounder Shakib Al Hasan celebrates one of his five second-innings wickets as Bangladesh moved off the bottom of the ICC Test rankings with victory in Khulna

The tourists' chase got off to a rocky start as they slumped to 15 for three and, despite 61 from first-innings centurion Hamilton Masakadza, the wickets continued to tumble and they were dismissed for 151.

Shakib was named man of the match after adding to his figures of 5-80 with a haul of 5-44.

After also hitting a hundred, Shakib emulates only Imran Khan and Ian Botham in taking 10 wickets and reaching three figures in a Test.

Bangladesh started the day already with an advantage of 266 - which would, as it turned out, have been more than good enough - but chose to bat on.

Mahmudullah was first to go, lofting a Natsai M'shangwe delivery straight to Masakadza at mid-on for 71.

Taijul Islam and Shahadat Hossain did not stick around for long, both also departing at the hands of debutant M'shangwe.

Shuvagata Hom added 50 before becoming a fourth victim for M'shangwe, who took 4-82, Masakadza stretching out a hand to pull down a stunning catch as he ran in from long-on.

The end of Hom's knock prompted Bangladesh captain Mushfiqur Rahim to call time, giving the hosts at least 68 overs to snare 10 wickets.

Zimbabwe's second innings began dreadfully, with debutant Brian Chari, fellow opener Sikandar Raza and captain Brendan Taylor all on their way within 10 overs.

Masakadza sought to steady the ship and received some assistance from Regis Chakabva and Craig Ervine.

But Masakadza's exit - Mominul Haque taking the catch at silly-point to hand Shakib his third wicket - left the visitors reeling on 137 for six and put the writing on the wall.

And so it proved as the tourists, who fell to the bottom of the International Cricket Council rankings as a result of the defeat, lost their last four batsmen for just 14 runs.

Zimbabwe off-spinner Malcolm Waller was subsequently reported for a suspected illegal bowling action during the game. His action will now be scrutinised under the ICC process, although he is permitted to continue bowling in internationals until the results of the testing are known.
