Watch highlights from the first Royal London One-Day Cup quarter-final
James Taylor and Samit Patel led Notts Outlaws through to the semi-finals of the Royal London One-Day Cup with an 85-run victory over Derbyshire Falcons at Trent Bridge.
Outlaws' captain Taylor struck an unbeaten 146 as Notts scored 313 for five, before bowling out the Falcons for 228 in 44.5 overs.
Taylor scored his runs from 154 balls, with eight fours and five sixes, to reach his 11th and highest one-day hundred.
He had fine support from Patel, who contributed 55 in a third-wicket partnership of 136 and then returned figures of 4-49 with the ball.
Playing the 100th one-day match of his career, Taylor won the toss and had no hesitation in batting first on a used wicket.
Momentum swung rapidly during the early stages, especially for Mark Footitt.
Derbyshire's left-arm paceman, formerly on the staff at Trent Bridge, opened up by bowling the only maiden of the innings.
His next over, the third of the match, saw Michael Lumb hit four balls away to the boundary ropes.
Lumb looked in imperious touch but was then cruelly run out in the fourth over as a Steven Mullaney drive was deflected onto the stumps by bowler Ben Cotton, with the left-hander having backed up too far.
Cotton then removed Mullaney, opening the batting with Alex Hales away on England duty, thanks to a fine slip catch by Wayne Madsen.
Those two early dismissals enabled Taylor and Patel to join forces and begin a stand that took the game away from their East Midland rivals.
Taylor 's only two concerns were run-out appeals that were referred upstairs to the third umpire but turned down in each instance.
Patel fell in the powerplay overs but both Riki Wessels and James Franklin increased the tempo as Taylor powered towards his second century of this season's competition, eventually reached in 134 deliveries, with seven fours and one six.
Having passed three figures the diminutive right-hander kicked on spectacularly, hitting Cotton for three maximums in quick succession straight after the unlucky bowler had seen Footitt spill a dolly at short third-man off Franklin.
A sharp catch from Mullaney removed Wes Durston in only the second over of the reply and once Ajmal Shahzad had sent back Billy Godleman and Madsen, the odds against a successful run-chase lengthened considerably.
The middle order were undone by the spin of Patel, with only Marcus North, who made 67, and David Wainwright, with a career-best 41 not out, offering any resistance before Luke Fletcher knocked over the final two wickets.
Notts now await Friday's draw to see who they will face in the semi-finals, whilst Derbyshire can reflect on reaching the knockout stages of a domestic competition for the first time since 2005.
Afterwards, a jubilant Taylor said: "Obviously we're delighted to get the win first and foremost and for me to contribute the way I did was really pleasing.
"I thought it was an outstanding and thoroughly professional performance from us tonight.
“We knew exactly what we needed to do on that wicket with the bat and I thought we set the tone with the ball, from the word go.
“We're playing a great brand of cricket, so we'll back ourselves whoever we are drawn against in the semi-final."
Beaten Madsen reflected: "It's a massive step for us to be here, from where we were a couple of months ago.
"I'm extremely proud of the team and everyone can be proud of what they've done in this competition.
"I think we've been excellent in terms of our energy in the field and we've had performances with bat and ball to win us games to get us this far.
"We've scored 300 a couple of times this year so we weren't out of it at the halfway stage but needed a big partnership and that didn't happen."

Notts end their quarter-final hoodoo at Trent Bridge, where they have lost the last four in as many seasons, and reach the semis in style.

8.41pm - WICKET! Cotton b Fletcher 10; Derby 203/9 - Cotton attempts another big shot, only to be bowled by the returning Fletcher. The Falcons are on the brink.
8.33pm - Ben Cotton launches Patel for six and David Wainwright clubs a Mullaney full-toss down the ground for four. Notts skipper James Taylor looks to be struggling with an abdominal strain.
8.23pm - WICKET! Palladino b Shahzad 8; Derby 163/8 - Shahzad has used his variations superbly this evening. He collects a third scalp when Tony Palladino swipes across the line at another slower ball and is bowled.
8.19pm - WICKET! Cross c Taylor b Patel 23; Derby 162/7 - Cross tries to pump some impetus into the Falcons' innings but can only sky Patel to Taylor, who takes a fine diving catch over his shoulder at cover. Patel now has figures of 4-29 from 6.5 overs.

8.07pm - WICKET! North st Read b Patel 67; Derby 143/6 - Derbyshire are folding fast. North tries to replicate Gareth Cross' six in the previous over, but misses and is stumped by Read. Notts can smell victory.
8pm - WICKET! Elstone c Read b Patel 10; Derby 130/5 - Derbyshire are in trouble now as former Notts batsman Scott Elstone advances down the track to Patel and edges behind to Chris Read, who takes a fine reflex catch to his right. The Falcons require 184 in 18.1 overs.
7.53pm - CHANCE! - Substitute fielder Brett Hutton almost holds on to a spectacular diving effort at mid-on to dismiss dangerman North. That would have been some take.
7.40pm - WICKET! Hughes b Patel 5; Derby 106/4 - Samit Patel has a huge lbw appeal turned down against a sweeping Alex Hughes. Replays show the spinner is extremely unlucky as the ball was hitting middle stump. However, the left-armer gets his man shortly afterwards when the right-hander steps back and misses a straight one.

7.27pm - WICKET! Madsen c Wood b Shahzad 14; Derby 94/3 - A huge wicket for Notts. Madsen hits another Shahzad slower delivery to Sam Wood at cover to depart cheaply. Can Derbyshire kick on without their influential skipper?
7.21pm - Tight bowling from Shahzad is keeping the pressure on the Falcons. They are 86 for two after 20 overs.

6.44pm - Godleman has his eye in as he finds the boundary on regular occasions. The left-hander has hit the rope three times in 10 balls to move on to 20. Derbyshire's second-wicket pair are rebuilding nicely here. They are 46 for one after the opening 10-over powerplay.
6.37pm - Michael Lumb makes a huge mistake at mid-off, letting a North drive go through his legs for four. North is up to 16 now. Billy Godleman collects his first boundary in the next over, driving Fletcher through the covers.
6.26pm - Fletcher is causing a few problems for the Falcons, Billy Godleman just inside-edging past his stumps. However, Marcus North starts to find his timing as he takes Ball for three fours in an over.
6.13pm - WICKET! Durston c Mullaney b Ball 5; Derby 8/1 - Steven Mullaney takes a fine catch at cover to hand Jake Ball the scalp of dangerman Wes Durston in his opening over.

5.23pm - END OF INNINGS! Notts 313/5; Taylor 146, Read 11 - Chris Read smashes a six and four to lift Notts to 313 for five. A huge total on this surface. The Falcons have it all to do now.
5.19pm - WICKET! Franklin run out (Cross) 27; Notts 302/5 - Franklin's 87-run stand in nine overs with Taylor ends when he is run out by Cross trying to sneak a quick single. Three balls remain.
5.17pm - Tony Palladino gifts Notts more runs as a wide full-toss races past the dive of wicketkeeper Cross to the boundary. Taylor then smashes the same bowler over his head for a maximum to take his side past 300.
5.11pm - Franklin goes on the attack at Cotton and, despite the bat flying out of his hands past square-leg, the ball races to the cover boundary. Valuable runs for the Outlaws, who are closing in on 300.
5.01pm - CHANCE! - Cotton deceives James Franklin who slices to Footitt at short third-man, and it's a horror drop from the quickie. It was a straight-forward catch and it just slipped out of his fingers.
Back-to-back sixes in the same over for Taylor, with that familiar sweep off the pace bowlers coming out of the locker.

4.33pm - WICKET! Wessels c Elstone b Wainwright 28; Notts 215/4 - Wainwright really deserves this wicket, but it's not how he'd have thought it would come. A long-hop is pulled straight to midwicket by Wessels and former Outlaw Scott Elstone takes a sharp catch. A bit of a blow for the home team.
4.25pm - Riki Wessels has advanced menacingly to 21 from 13 balls and the score has moved on to 203 for three midway through the 39th over.

4.07pm - WICKET! Patel c Godleman b Footitt 55; Notts 167/3 - The powerplay strikes again! Footitt returns to the attack and his extra pace catches Patel out, and his hook shot barely reaches Billy Godleman on the square-boundary, where he takes a good catch diving forward.
4.00pm - This is a big moment in the game now, as Notts take the batting powerplay at the start of the 34th over with the score on 158 for two. It can cause mayhem for either side, which way will it go today?
3.58pm - CHANCE! - Another mix-up between the Notts batsmen and the decision goes to the third umpire. Taylor is once again safe but Patel is in danger of disrupting this innings himself.

3.49pm - CHANCE! - Taylor tries to run the ball to third man but gets quite a thick edge on it through to Gareth Cross, who is stood up and he can't cling on. A tough opportunity, but a chance nonetheless.
It moves the Outlaws on to 148 for two after 30 overs, and it's generally thought that the score should double after 30 overs. 296 would be a great score in a quarter-final.
3.38pm - CENTURY PARTNERSHIP! - Patel and Taylor are doing a fine job here, and gradually applying more pressure to the Derbyshire attack. A perfect recovery after the early setbacks.

3.34pm - FIFTY! Taylor (75b 4x4 1x6) - The recovery is complete as Taylor smashes a six over long-off, the first of the innings. Notts are in a good position with half the overs gone and the score is up to 125.
3.22pm - Spin is doing a good job for the Falcons but Taylor shows the first signs of aggression for a while, reverse-sweeping Wes Durston to the point boundary before advancing down the pitch. The score is 99 for two after 22 overs.
3.09pm - That was a classic case of ball-watching from Patel, and he's been given a stern word by his captain after nearly selling him down the river. What a calamity that would have been at this stage.

3.05pm - REVIEW! - There's a scare for skipper Taylor as his stumps at the non-striker's end are felled. As he dives back in, his bat bounces up in the air but he's comfortably home and given not out on the big screen.
2.58pm - The Outlaws have made it to 68 for two from 14 overs, and we're about to see spin introduced for the first time in the shape of David Wainwright. Taylor, going quietly about his business, has moved on to 20 while Patel has 15.

2.14pm - WICKET! Lumb run out (Cotton) 19; Notts 27/1 - Lumb looked so good in that last over, and he's really unfortunate to be run out as a drive from Mullaney catches Ben Cotton's fingertips on the way through to the stumps, leaving Lumb stranded helplessly at the non-striker's end.
2.11pm - Lumb - who is so often the catalyst for what Alex Hales does at the other end - is off in spectacular style. Four consecutive boundaries, a mix of classic drives and savage pulls, moves the Outlaws into the twenties after three overs.
2.05pm - Steven Mullaney is the first batsman off the mark, but it's streaky as an inside edge evades the stumps and the keeper to trickle away to the fine-leg boundary. Nervy start from the Outlaws.
2.00pm - Play is underway as Mark Footitt gets Michael Lumb to nibble at one outside off stump. The left-arm quick has been a huge part of the Falcons campaign to date, so it sets up a great battle between him and the England opener.
