Stuart Broad has confirmed he will miss the limited-overs internationals with Sri Lanka as he steps up his recovery from a knee injury.
The tall paceman had already been ruled out of Friday’s Royal London one-day international versus Scotland.
He will also miss the one-off NatWest International T20 against Sri Lanka on May 20 and the five Royal London ODIs with the same opponents that follow.
Broad hopes to make his first appearance of the season in Nottinghamshire’s LV= County Championship match versus Durham from May 25.
He also aims to play against Sussex before taking his England place on June 12 at Lord's for the summer’s first Investec Test.
"I'm running this week and I'm bowling next week," said Broad, who was speaking at the launch of Royal London's one-day cricket sponsorship at the Royal Opera House.
"It's important you don't want to just bowl this week and play next week.
"I've had a month without bowling the ball now. You've got to build up gradually to make sure I'm 100 per cent ready.
"We've got seven back-to-back Test matches and that's my aim; I'm not going to make the one-day series.
"Hopefully I'll play the seven back-to-back Test matches and then the one-day series against India.
"I'm due to play the championship game for Notts on May 25 against Durham, hopefully to prove I'm ready to go for the Test match in June."
