The second day of Sussex's LV= County Championship Division One meeting with Middlesex was abandoned without a ball being bowled due to heavy rain at the BrightonandHoveJobs.com County Ground.
Sussex trailed Middlesex by 19 runs with seven first-innings wickets remaining after the visitors were bowled out for 105 on the opening day, but wet ground conditions put paid to any hopes of play today. Sussex announced play had been abandoned at 1.40pm.

England wicketkeeper Matt Prior, on 32 not out along Matt Machan with 21, was among the runs when bad light brought a premature end to play yesterday as Sussex reached 86 for three.
The hosts had earlier bowled out Middlesex in less than 50 overs - veteran Jon Lewis doing much of the damage with a spell of 4-12 after lunch.
