During one of our rest days, a few of us had the opportunity to visit the Acid Survivors Foundation (ASF). In Bangladesh, acid attacks are quite common and are normally a result of family feuds, marriage rejection or disagreements over land.
No one should have to go through what these people have, and meeting them was a very humbling experience. They have showed so much fight to get on with their lives, and are truly inspirational.
Back to the cricket, and we have secured two good wins in the warm up matches against Pakistan and New Zealand in Dhaka. Following the game against New Zealand, we flew to Sylhet, which is where we will now be based for all of our group matches.
Transfer day was a really long one, so I thought a 10pm finish would give me a nice early night. How wrong was I?! A massive storm erupted throughout the night and I finally got to sleep at around 3am.
We are now all looking forward to our first match against West Indies. All the preparation work has been done, so we can’t wait to hit the ground running.
