Defending champions West Indies eased to a 33-run win over Sri Lanka at Mirpur in their final World Twenty20 warm-up game.

Having beaten England by seven wickets yesterday, Darren Sammy’s men raced to 172 for five - Dwayne Smith’s powerful 60 at the top of the order preceding a cameo 14-ball 30 from the skipper.

Dwayne Bravo celebrates bowling Sachithra Senanayake as his 3-29 helped West Indies to a 33-run warm-up victory against Sri Lanka

In reply Tillakaratne Dilshan made a bright 43, but once he fell to Dwayne Bravo, who impressed with 3-29, Sri Lanka were always up against it. Sunil Narine ran through the middle order en route to figures of 4-24.

In Fatullah, Australia won their solitary warm-up game by three runs in a high-scoring contest with New Zealand.

Openers David Warner and Aaron Finch put on 113 in just eight overs before retiring out, as Australia posted a daunting 200 for seven.

New Zealand looked like successfully chasing that down with Martin Guptill blasting 62 from 34 balls and Brendon McCullum adding 37 off 18.

But with 13 needed from 11 deliveries and five wickets in hand, the Black Caps collapsed to 197 for nine, with Kyle Mills unable to find the required boundary from the last two balls.

At the same venue Pakistan slumped to 71 all out as South Africa ran out winners by eight wickets in the day’s other game.

Beuran Hendricks took 2-3 and Wayne Parnell 2-2 as only three Pakistan batsmen reached double figures, with Umar Akmal’s 17 the top score as 15 balls went unused.

Hashim Amla top-scored with 24 as South Africa got home with 36 balls to spare.
