Iain Wardlaw has been released from his contract at Yorkshire, the club have announced.
A statement on the club’s website confirmed that the 28-year-old will “pursue interests away from the professional game."
The seamer, who was a part of the Scotland side that recently qualified for the 2015 World Cup, will appear for Bradford League outfit Cleckheaton during 2014, the club he played for before being signed by the White Rose in 2011.
Wardlaw told Yorkshire’s website: “I have thoroughly enjoyed my time as a professional cricketer with Yorkshire. I would like to take this opportunity to thank everybody associated with the club, in particular the supporters, and I wish the lads all the best for the 2014 season.”
Wardlaw took 55 List A wickets in 33 appearances for the club, and also played six times in first-class cricket as well as in 16 Twenty20s.
Yorkshire chairman Colin Graves added: “Iain is a great guy and I am sorry that he has not had the breaks he needed to establish himself in our first team. I would like to thank him for his contribution over the last few years and wish him well in the future.”
