Ian Bell has been called up to England’s squad for the Twenty20 internationals with West Indies as cover following injuries to batsmen Eoin Morgan and Alex Hales.
Bell, rested for the ongoing one-day series versus the Windies in Antigua, bolsters the tourists’ options for three T20Is against the reigning world champions in Barbados.
Morgan and Hales both missed yesterday's opening ODI defeat, with respective knee and thigh problems.
Limited-overs coach Ashley Giles said: "We are going to call-up a replacement to come to Barbados and that is Ian Bell.
"He is a world-class player, a world-class fielder and a world-class bloke, so we look forward to meeting up with him in Barbados.
"He wasn't in the original 30, but with those two different sorts of players and the cover we need, and the conditions we are going to face in Bangladesh, Belly has the ability to play all those different roles."
