Kevin Pietersen has re-signed for Indian Premier League side Delhi Daredevils.
Delhi last month opted not to retain any of their players from 2013 but today used the new ‘right to match’ system to secure Pietersen, who is available for the full IPL season after being released from his ECB central contract.
The 'right to match' system allows teams to buy back up to five of their core players from previous campaigns and the Daredevils matched a bid of around £880,000 from Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Pietersen, who represented Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2009 and 2010, first played for Delhi in 2012 and was due to again last season until a knee injury prevented him.
