Scotland have been dealt a tough five-team group for the World Cup qualifying tournament in New Zealand, which takes place from January 10 to February 2.

They face the United Arab Emirates, Hong Kong and Nepal - all of whom recently qualified for the forthcoming ICC World Twenty20 in Bangladesh- and Canada, who have qualified for the past three World Cups.

A play-off defeat to Holland in November ended Scotland’s World Twenty20 ambitions.

"Paul Collingwood will lead the Scotland coaching team at the forthcoming World Cup Qualifying event in New Zealand, in conjunction with performance development manager Craig Wright,” read a statement on the Cricket Scotland website.

"The team will be managed by Euan McIntyre together with performance analyst/fielding coach Toby Bailey, strength and conditioning coach Simon Smith and physiotherapist Mhairi MacPhail.

"All were part of the Scotland coaching and support team at the recent tournament in the United Arab Emirates, with Collingwood and Wright stepping up from their assistant coaching roles to lead the team."
