Pakistan have recalled paceman Mohammad Talha to their squad for the three Tests with Sri Lanka more than four years after his sole format appearance.
That game was the 2009 Lahore meeting between the sides that was abandoned following the terrorist attack on the bus carrying the Sri Lanka team.
Pakistan have also recalled fit-again seamer Umar Gul and batsman Mohammad Hafeez, who has hit three hundreds in this month’s first four one-day internationals versus the same opponents.
Batsman Umar Amin, paceman Mohammad Irfan and spinner Zulfiqar Babar are missing from the squad that drew with South Africa in Pakistan’s last Test series.
Pakistan squad: Misbah-ul-Haq (captain), Mohammad Hafeez, Ahmed Shehzad, Khurram Manzoor, Shan Masood, Azhar Ali, Asad Shafiq, Younus Khan, Adnan Akmal, Junaid Khan, Saeed Ajmal, Abdur Rehman, Umar Gul, Rahat Ali, Mohammad Talha.
