Warwickshire Bears will return to Rugby School in 2014 for a Royal London One-Day Cup contest with Kent Spitfires on Sunday 10 August.

The Bears played their inaugural first XI match at Rugby in July this year when they faced Glamorgan in a sold-out Friends Life t20 fixture.

The success of that day has led to the club returning to play the longer form of limited-overs cricket during the school holidays.

Gareth Roberts, commercial director at Edgbaston, said: "We've been in discussions to return to Rugby School since the Twenty20 match in July. All tickets sold out two weeks in advance, proving the great appetite for staging Warwickshire fixtures in this part of the county, and we were very keen to reward these supporters.

"Rugby School is the quintessential venue for cricket in the UK, but it also boasts outstanding playing facilities and the staff did everything to make us feel welcome. Tickets will go on-sale in the New Year and more details will be announced soon on www.edgbaston.com."

Patrick Derham, headmaster of Rugby School, said: "There has been fantastic feedback from July's inaugural match at Rugby School and hosting a Royal London One-Day Cup match in 2014 ensures that we have a full day of cricket.

"We have the necessary infrastructure and supporters to make this an annual event and we look forward to welcoming the Warwickshire team back to Rugby school on 10 August for another great day of cricket."

Tickets for the game will again be available from Hope Clothing on Sheep Street in Rugby when tickets go on sale in the New Year.
