Alister McDermott and Kane Richardson have been withdrawn from the Cricket Australia Chairman’s XI to face England in Alice Springs this week. They have been replaced by fellow seamers Jayde Herrick, of Victoria, and Simon Mackin, of Western Australia.
McDermott, son of former Australia paceman Craig, and Richardson, both 22, will play for their states, Queensland and South Australia respectively, in this week's Sheffield Shield games.
McDermott junior is yet to feature for Australia, although he has been involved in several squads, but Richardson has one cap - in a one-day international with Sri Lanka in January.
Herrick, 28, has not played for Victoria this summer but has taken 77 first-class wickets at 31.55, and represented Victoria versus England on the 2010-11 Ashes tour. Mackin, 21, holds a Western Australia contract but is yet to represent their first XI.
Michael Beer, whose two international caps came in the 2010-11 Ashes, will captain the hosts at Traeger Park in the two-day game on Friday and Saturday.
CA Chairman's XI: Michael Beer (capt), Steve Cazzulino, Marcus Harris, Michael Hill, Alex Keath, Jake Doran, Ashton Turner, James Muirhead, Josh Lalor, Jayde Herrick, Simon Mackin.
