Tim Bresnan will make his comeback from injury during England Performance Programme’s clash with a Queensland Second XI this week.

Tim Bresnan will be looking to prove his fitness for the EPP in Queensland this weekThe Yorkshire seamer has not played competitive cricket since the fourth Test of the summer's Investec Ashes series, when he took three wickets and scored 57 runs during England’s defeat of Australia at the Emirates Durham ICG in August.

A stress fracture of the back kept the 28-year-old out of the final Test at the Kia Oval - as England completed a 3-0 success - and out of the 17-man squad for the winter’s Ashes series, but he did travel with the team Down Under with a view to being included when he proves his fitness.

He will get the chance to do that during the three-day game at the Allan Border field against the Queensland Second XI that gets under way tonight.

The 13-man team will be led by 26-year-old Warwickshire batsman Varun Chopra while Middlesex’s Sam Robson makes his first EPP appearance.

Northamptonshire all-rounder David Willey will not feature, having flown back home yesterday after suffering a lower back injury.

The game starts at 10am local time (midnight GMT) and offers free entry for any supporters wishing to attend.
