Surrey have announced that promising teenage duo Dominic Sibley and Tom Curran have extended their contracts at the Kia Oval.
Batsman Sibley and pace bowler Curran, both 18, made names for themselves during the current campaign and have been rewarded with deals that will last until 2016.
Sibley appeared in two Yorkshire Bank 40 and three LV= County Championship games and made national headlines in the final game of the season as he became the youngest player to hit a double-hundred in the championship, and the second youngest in English first-class cricket after the legendary WG Grace.
Curran, the 18-year-old son of former Zimbabwe all-rounder Kevin, made his mark in the 40-over competition, featuring five times and taking a five-wicket haul against the Scottish Saltires in his second appearance.
Surrey director of cricket Alec Stewart told the club’s official website: “These are two highly promising young cricketers and we look forward to seeing them develop over the next few seasons.”
The pair will begin their full-time careers once they have completed their A-level exams in the summer.
