Jos Buttler’s unbeaten 65 off 48 balls in England’s three-wicket win over Australia produced the highest FTI Most Valuable Player score of the match.

The Somerset wicketkeeper struck the winning runs to maintain his side’s unbeaten run in eight completed international matches at the SWALEC Stadium.

After also taking three catches, as the hosts restricted the tourists to 227, he acquired another 16.31 points to add to the 21.80 earned in the first game of the series.

He is now up to fifth in the England ODI FTI Most Valuable Player Rankings with one game remaining.

The system rewards players for every run scored, wicket taken and catch held across all three formats of the game.

Bowlers receive higher marks for good economy rates, bowling maidens and dismissing the top order, while batsmen are rewarded for high run rates and the percentage of the team’s runs they hit.

Ravi Bopara leads the ODI rankings with 105 points in total, while Jimmy Anderson is top of the overall table which takes into account Test matches and international t20 games too.

Joe Root needs to score just over 13 points to take the overall lead and cap a fine summer.
