Live updates from Friday's LV= County Championship action, when Somerset and Northamptonshire stormed to innings victories and Yorkshire battled back in the top-of-the-table clash with Durham.
6:45pm – Here’s a summary of today’s games, including the two that reached their conclusions. Remember all matches still in progress head into the final day tomorrow, with the exception of Surrey versus Derbyshire which is nicely poised at the half-way stage. We’ll see you in the morning.
Division One
Yorkshire are 276 for one following on at Scarborough, 23 runs behind Durham.
Somerset beat Middlesex by aninnings and 179 runs at Lord’s.
Sussex lead Warwickshire by 65 having reached 148 for three at Edgbaston.
Derbyshire are 13 without loss in their second innings at the Kia Oval, 57 runs behind hosts Surrey.
Division Two
Hampshire are 137 for seven in their second innings, still needing 359 more for an improbable victory over Lancashire at Southport
Northamptonshire beat Glamorgan by an innings and 25 runs at Wantage Road.
Gloucestershire are 19 without loss in their second innings at Bristol, having been set 432 to win by Essex.
At Grace Road, Leicestershire are 190 for six and 126 ahead as they look to set a victory target for Worcestershire.
6:20pm - 150 for Phil Jaques! As when he reached three figures, the Australian crunches another one to the fence to reach his latest landmark. That came in the final over of the day and Yorkshire close on 276 for one following on, a deficit of23 against title rivals Durham. Williamson ends with a watchful, unbeaten 90 from 180 balls.
Action has also concluded in the games between Lancashire and Hampshire and Leicestershire and Worcestershire. In the latter match, Eckersley is closing on a century in each innings. He's 91 not out and has manfully kept his team above water.
Bad light has halted proceedings again at Bristol. It's fair to say a resumption is unlikely at this stage, so we'll have a close of play summary with you soon.
6:13pm - Nightwatchman Will Beer saw Sussex through to the close with no further alarms and they close on 148 for three, a lead of 65 over Warwickshire in their second innings.
Stumps have also been drawn at the Kia Oval, with Derbyshire 13 without loss and trailing Surrey by 57 second time around.
6:07pm - Run outs! A pair as the day reaches its close, with Sussex losing Michael Yardy for 46 and Chris Wood departing as Hampshire's struggles continue.
5:55pm - Apologies to messrs Klinger and Dent - they're back out at Bristol. That said, the pair have started in fine fashion and are 11 without loss in the third over.
If there is play at Southport on day 4 tomorrow, admission to the ground will be free.
— Lancashire CCC (@LancsCCC) August 30, 2013
5:49pm - Bad light also briefly interfered at Southport, but the players are back out and Hampshire must face five more overs. A couple of wickets for Lancashire could well bring the extra half hour into play.
5:45pm - The players remain off the field at Bristol, where bad light has delayed the start of Gloucestershire's second innings. One presumes openers Michael Klinger and Chris Dent will hope they've avoided a tricky mini-session and are done for the day.
5:42pm - Patel has his second wicket as Luke Wells spoons a pull to Tom Milnes at square-leg and leaves four shy of a half-century. Sussex are 41 ahead with eight second-innings wickets remaining.
5:38pm - The partnership between Jaques and Williamson has passed 200. The Yorkshire pair have 124 and 76 respectively.
5:34pm - Big breakthrough for Lancashire - Neil McKenzie picks out Tom Smith at mid-on with a leading edge off Kerrigan to go for 44. That ends a partnership worth the same amount with wicketkeeper Adam Wheater, who must now shepherd the tail to the close. Hampshire are 107 for six.
5:27pm - Well, that will be the source of some amusement in the Derbyshire dressing room - Higginbottom has bowled George Edwards and Footitt must wait for his hat-trick ball! The upshot is Surrey are 289 all out, a first-innings lead of 70. The home team lost their last four wickets for two runs, with their final three batsmen departing for nought.
5:23pm - Mark Footitt is on a hat-trick!! Derbyshire are doing a fine job of wrapping up the Surrey innings and remain right in the vital Division One relegation scrap. Footitt has figures of 4-50 after having Chris Tremlett caught behind for a duck and bowling Tim Linley. Those were the last two balls of his over and Surrey are now 289 for nine.
5:19pm - There it is, Essex declare on 285 for four, setting Gloucestershire an unlikely 432 to win. That astonishing opening stand between Gambhir and Mickleburgh has put the match well beyond the home side barring a remarkable turn of events.

They are not out of the woods yet - still 101 behind following on - but the second-wicket stand between Jaques and Williamson is now worth 180.

Ned Eckersley has the latest half-century of an impressive individual season but Leicestershire are now six down, with Worcestershire's slow left-armer Shaaiq Choudhry bowling Ben Raine. The hosts' second-innings lead is 81 with four wickets remaining.

Simon Kerrigan is among the wickets for Lancashire now as Luke Procter snaffles Sean Ervine on the midwicket fence. Hampshire are five down and the Red Rose will be eyeing victory tonight. It opens up the possibility of a day at the seaside in Southport tomorrow, if nothing else!
4:37pm - Gloucestershire have two long-overdue breakthroughs to end the fun for Essex's openers. Gautam Gambhir goes to Craig Miles for 106 and Jaik Mickleburgh departs 14 shy of three figures to Tom Smith, with Hamish Marshall holding the catches on both occasions. Regardless, the pair have given their side a firm grip on the contest. At 222 (eeek!) for two Essex's lead is 368.
Yorks 151-1 now. Really calmed any nerves that might have been around. Still work to do, but picture looking a lot brighter.
