Lancashire's batsmen seized control of their LV= County Championship Division Two match against Gloucestershire to take a lead of 327 runs into the final day at Aigburth.
Gareth Cross and Ashwell Prince both hit 64 and Wayne White added an unbeaten 52 to leave Lancashire on 239 for seven, well-placed to press for a third championship victory tomorrow.
Lancashire had earlier dismissed Gloucestershire for 222 to earn a first-innings lead of 88.
The morning's play was dominated by Gloucestershire batsman Alex Gidman, who converted his overnight 54 to 110 before he became Simon Kerrigan's fifth wicket when he pulled the slow left-armer to deep square-leg, where White leapt to take a fine catch.
Gidman's fine innings spanned 179 balls and he was finally dismissed on the stroke of lunch, having brought up his hundred with consecutive boundaries off Kyle Hogg.
Kerrigan bowled throughout the morning session to complete figures of 5-68. The 24-year-old spinner had Benny Howell caught by second slip Karl Brown for 39 and then bowled Gareth Roderick for a duck three balls later.
After Glen Chapple had Craig Miles taken at second slip, Kerrigan struck twice in four balls to remove Graeme McCarter and Liam Norwell, the latter falling lbw for a duck.
That left Gloucestershire on 195 for nine, but Gidman combined with wrist-injury victim Ed Young to add a further 27 runs before the centurion's dismissal.
Miles had Andrea Agathangelou caught behind from the first ball of Lancashire’s second innings.
Fellow seamers Norwell and McCarter then picked up two wickets apiece as the hosts collapsed to 62 for five, but Cross and Prince reclaimed the upper hand for Lancashire with an 85-run partnership.
Prince had hit eight boundaries in his 106-ball innings of 64, his fourth championship score above 50 this term, when he chipped Howell's slower ball to Norwell at mid-off.
Cross and White then flogged a tiring attack unmercifully to add 67 in 12 overs and ram home Lancashire's advantage.
The wicketkeeper was eventually caught in the deep off Norwell, who ended the day with 3-80, but White completed his first fifty for Lancashire off 47 balls three overs before the close.
