5.46pm - ecb.co.uk's Andy Wilson at Leicestershire (62/0) v Northamptonshire (251): This is turning into an excellent day for Leicestershire. They are now 62-0 having dismissed Northants for 251, with Dan Redfern and Angus Robson both riding their luck as the ball continues to dart around in the evening sunshine, but gaining rewards for their positive approach.
5.37pm - Mark Footitt is looking to finish things in a hurry at Bristol. He's dismissed Kieran Noema-Barnett and Liam Norwell in consecutive deliveries to leave the hosts nine down....but he is denied a hat-trick by Matt Taylor.
5.29pm - Steven Davies is in some form. He hit an unbeaten double-hundred last week and has backed it up with fifty today.
Tim Groenewald is the fourth duck of the day as Steven Finn gets his first victim of the game to leave Somerset 400 for eight. What a day of cricket that has been!
482 - James Hildreth has scored 482 runs in his last four @LV_Cricket innings against Middlesex (53, 60, 182 and 187). Thorn. @SomersetCCC

5.18pm - And the wickets keep on coming. Prince is the latest at Old Trafford after his 11th first-class century for Lancashire. The South African drives Mitch Claydon to to extra-cover.
Chris Read can't build on a promising outing against Yorkshire and falls to Gareth Berg for just four.
5.14pm - Jesse Ryder has the wickets of both Kumar Sangakkara and now Kevin Pietersen. The Kiwi traps KP in front for 32 and then Jason Roy in the same over without scoring. Surrey 243 for five.
Hughes has another wicket for Derbyshire removing James Fuller leg-before for six. Gloucestershire are 267 for seven.
Wessels nicks Berg to Dawson at second slip to depart for 17. 251-5 with Hales 113* and Chris Read the new batsman #HantsvNotts
— Nottinghamshire CCC (@TrentBridge) April 26, 2015
5.06pm - The wickets are starting to fall with the second new ball, most significantly at the Emirates Durham ICG where the record last-wicket stand is over. Robinson sends a catch to Calum MacLeod off Usman Arshad for 110. Sussex are all out for 335.
Alex Hughes has removed Hamish Marshall lbw at Bristol to leave Gloucestershire for 249 for six.
Despite Somerset's heavy scoring today they have had two ducks. Alex Barrow follows Tom Cooper in failing to trouble the scorers as he edges Harris to Ollie Rayner at second slip.
5pm - We have our first wicket with the second new ball. Tim Bresnan strikes to remove Sam Hain lbw.
Well played @ashyp_5 on reaching his 41st first-class century, 11th for @LancsCCC#LanvKen
— Lancashire CCC (@LancsCCC) April 26, 2015
4.56pm - James Harris has been a shining light on a tough day for Middlesex as he catches Jim Allenby's edge for 23. Somerset are 377 for four.
The second new ball is due in most games in the next little while. We shall see if that changes the momentum of a day that has so far favoured the bat despite six of the eight captains that won the toss electing to bowl.
Alex Hales is in the form of his life! Last week 236, now he's 103 not out off 156 balls with 20 fours #HantsvNottspic.twitter.com/FUW0nowjP4

4.32pm -Century for Oliver Robinson. What an innings on debut! He gets there from just 101 balls in an innings that has included 17 fours and much anguish for Durham. What was I saying about Durham making the right choice to bowl this morning. The last-wicket stand is now worth 150.
James Hildreth has got to 150 at Taunton from 177 balls. Definite batting day!
4.31pm - Northamptonshire have been bowled out for 251. Dan Redfern completes the job with his only ball of the innings as he sneaks one through Olly Stone.
4.27pm - Matt Hobden pulls Chris Rushworth through midwicket to bring up his maiden first-class half-century, from 65 balls. Sussex also now have a third batting bonus point. They are 300 for nine.
Alex Hales continues to look good as he finds the rope three times in an Andre Adams over to move to 84.
4.14pm - Hampshire get another wicket after the break. James Taylor is caught trying to sweep at Liam Dawson.
Tom Taylor bowls Gloucestershire captain Geraint Jones with his second ball after tea while Surrey have gone past 200 to pick up their first batting bonus point.
Century partnership between Robinson (82*) and Hobden (32*) has frustrated Durham this afternoon. Sussex are 274-9 now. #DURvSUS
— Durham Cricket Club (@DurhamCricket) April 26, 2015
3.51pm - Northants lose a third quick wicket in the shadows of tea. David Willey falls to Luke Wells for 36 and Leicestershire, who opted to bowl this morning, have the visitors 224 for nine.
3.49pm - Hales batting nicely at the Ageas Bowl where Notts lost just one wicket in the session to be 182 for two at tea. Lancashire are 221 for four at home to Kent.
TEA: Somerset end a thrilling session 317/3 with Hildreth 132* and Allenby 0* #SOMvMIDpic.twitter.com/mf8og0t4aD

3.45pm - ecb.co.uk's Andy Wilson at Leicestershire v Northamptonshire (220/8): End of a very good innings by Rob Newton, as he is trapped lbw by Ben Raine, his main rival as player of the day. Newton made 71 from 105 balls, but Raine now has 4-38, having won another lbw decision from umpire Michael Gough with his first ball at Rory Kleinveldt. That put Raine on a hat-trick for the second time today. Olly Stone denied him, so Northants are 220 for eight just before tea. Really enjoyable cut and thrust.
3.42pm - Warwickshire head to tea at 176 for three after 65 overs while the last-wicket stand between Robinson and Matt Hobden at Chester-le-Street continues to frustrate the hosts. They've taken the score past 250 now with Robinson unbeaten on 72.
Surrey are 189 for three at tea. Pietersen is 12 not out.
3.39pm - Middlesex finally break the Trescothick-Hildreth stand - albeit 261 runs after it started. It takes a quality James Harris catch to do it. He made up good ground before diving to hold on and end Trescothick's stay for 140. That was the highest Somerset partnership ever against Middlesex.

— Warwickshire CCC (@CricketingBears) April 26, 2015
3.34pm - Lancashire pick up their first batting point, but then lose Steven Croft shortly afterwards as he skies a catch to Riley off Matt Coles following a 75-run stand with Ashwell Prince, who is unbeaten on 65.
Fifty for Alex Hales off 108 balls with 9 fours. 158-2 in the 60th over with James Taylor 5 not out #HantsvNottspic.twitter.com/PsbSdEkWHP
— Nottinghamshire CCC (@TrentBridge) April 26, 2015
3.26pm - The runs continue to flow at Taunton. Somerset move past 300 with Trescothick and Hildreth in particular cruising.

3.22pm - Sangakkara is gone. Jesse Ryder gets the prized wicket of the Sri Lankan for 52 as he is trapped lbw.
Fantastic catch from Wheater gives @slug_7 his 200th F-C wicket for Hampshire! Mullaney (66) the man out - 149-2: https://t.co/h8ERdkjuEU
— Hampshire Cricket (@hantscricket) April 26, 2015
3.16pm - Hampshire make a much-needed breakthrough as Sean Ervine has Mullaney caught behind for 66 after combining with Hales in an 84-run stand. That is Ervine's 200th first-class wicket for Hampshire.
Sangakkara coasts past 50 from 98 balls, with a signature cover-drive off Panesar, while Robinson has a fifty, from 48 balls, on his bow now as Sussex's last pair battle on.
3.07pm - Hildreth and Trescothick's partnership of 200 came from 225 balls. They have enjoyed themselves at Taunton. Tom Cooper must be kicking himself though!
Oliver Robinson has dragged Sussex beyond 200 on his first-class debut. The number eight is unbeaten on 41.
100 for James Hildreth! (119 balls, 14x4, 2x6) A fantastic fluent innings from Hildy! #SOMvMIDpic.twitter.com/gevFP3unoS
— Somerset Cricket (@SomersetCCC) April 26, 2015
3.01pm - Burns falls as he picks out backward point off Panesar for a well-made 78. Kevin Pietersen strides to the crease and soon scores the two runs he needs to be the fastest player to reach 1,000 county runs for Surrey. The man pictured below might just nick that record off him by the end of the season the way he's going.
2.52pm - Durham could be batting before tea as Steve Magoffin is the ninth Sussex wicket to fall. The Australian offers a catch to Phil Mustard after slashing at Usman Arshad. Durham one of the few teams to benefit from having a bowl today.
Steven Patterson strikes down the A1 at Headingley as he traps Laurie Evans in front for 14 from 48 balls. Warwickshire are 136 for three.
Meanwhile at a darkening Kia Oval, Kumar Sangakkara has lifted Monty Panesar into the seats.
2.34pm - ecb.co.uk's Andy Wilson at Leicestershire v Northamptonshire (155/6): Leicestershire strike again. Clint McKay probing a lively patch on a length from the Bennett End, a few have jumped up and this one seemed to keep low to give Josh Cobb little chance. Torrid examination for Cobb against former county. Northants now 155 for six, as David Willey joins Rob Keogh.
Steven Mullaney and Alex Hales have brought up a 50-run stand for the second wicket at the Ageas Bowl.
A 56th first-class 100 for Trescothick! (129 balls, 19x4, 1x6) Brilliant innings from the captain! Somerset 194/2 pic.twitter.com/tZTlBoF9wZ

— Gloucestershire CCC (@Gloscricket) April 26, 2015
2.24pm - Rushworth has his third wicket of the session. Ben Brown is struck on the pad and the finger goes up. Sussex have now lost seven for 63 since they were 88 for one.
2.19pm - Adam Riley has made a breakthrough at Emirates Old Trafford after being swung back into the attack. Horton is the man to go, after he had been more fluent after lunch to reach 71, as wicketkeeper Sam Billings accepts the chance.
Half-century for Steven Mullaney off 138 balls with 7 fours. Notts 96-1 in the 41st over #HantsvNottspic.twitter.com/LCCwN8Ab6Z

2.16pm - Rushworth strikes again. He gets one to swing away from Ajmal Shahzad who nicks to Paul Collingwood. Sussex are 145 for seven.
2.05pm - Rory Burns has a half-century at the Kia Oval as Surrey move to 92 for one after being asked to bat by Essex skipper James Foster. Burns gets there with a three off Jesse Ryder.
Sussex's problems deepen as Chris Rushworth traps Harry Finch lbw as he half-heartedly pushes forward. The visitors have lost five for 55 since that 88-run second-wicket stand between Ed Joyce and Matt Machan.
2.03pm - Derbyshire's young right-armer Tom Taylor has made a mess of Peter Handscomb's stumps. The Australian departs for 17.
WICKET! @BunnyOnions gets a second as Luke Wright is caught at mid-on. Sussex now 127-5. #DURvSUS
— Durham Cricket Club (@DurhamCricket) April 26, 2015
1.53pm - Paul Horton ticks over to a half-century at Old Trafford while James Hildreth is raising his bat at Taunton where he has raced to his fifty from 57 balls. Somerset are motoring along at the moment with Marcus Trescothick closing in on a yet another century.
1.48pm - Tim Bresnan strikes in his first over of the session again. Wicketkeeper Andy Hodd is again the man to take the catch as Will Porterfield departs following a 95-run stand with Ian Westwood.
There is also a wicket at Grace Road where Adam Rossington edges Charlie Shreck to Mark Cosgrove in the cordon.
1.20pm - As promised, here is the state-of-play at the first interval:
Division One
Durham reduced Division One leaders Sussex, boosted by an 88-run stand between Ed Joyce and Matt Machan, to 117 for four after inserting the visitors at the Emirates Durham ICG.
Marcus Trescothick, sharing in an unbroken stand of 97 with James Hildreth, has 81 of Somerset’s148 for two after they were put in by Middlesex at Taunton.
Half-centurion Ian Westwood and Will Porterfield recovered from the loss of Varun Chopra to the third ball of the innings as last season’s runners-up Warwickshire advanced to 91 for one against defending champions Yorkshire, who handed a second debut to veteran James Middlebrook, at Headingley.
Nottinghamshire made steady progress after Hampshire asked them to make first use at the Ageas Bowl, reaching 75 for one.
Division Two
Lancashire, joint-top of Division Two, won the toss and advanced to 81 for two, despite Matt Coles taking two wickets in as many balls for Kent at Emirates Old Trafford.
Leicestershire’s Ben Raine, who signed a contract extension this week, replicated Coles' heroics to peg Northamptonshire back to 116 for four at Grace Road.
Essex failed to make the most of calling correctly as Surrey progressed to 84 for one at the Kia Oval, Rory Burns unbeaten on 45.
Will Tavare made 48 of Gloucestershire’s106 for two following Derbyshire’s decision to field at the Bristol County Ground.

With games reaching the lunch interval, we will round-up the scores shortly.
12.57pm - Ian Westwood is patiently going about his business in Leeds, raising his bat for a 105-ball half-century.

Next ball Rob Keogh shoulders arms and it comes back to clip top of off. Great comeback from Leics, Northants are 93 for four.

12.25pm - Notts, stuck in by Hampshire, respond with a 50-run opening stand from Steven Mullaney and Brendan Taylor.

11.58am - One brings two! James Harris traps Tom Cooper lbw, reducing Somerset to 51 for two.

11.50am - ecb.co.uk's Andy Wilson at Leicestershire v Northamptonshire (47/1): Much-needed wicket for Leicestershire, and McKay, after Northants had rattled on to 47 inside 11 overs. A less spectacular version of Alastair Cook’s catch in Grenada, as Tom Wells parried Richard Levi’s extravagant drive at third slip, almost volleyball style, allowing Cosgrove to take a simple catch at first.

Sussex skipper Ed Joyce gets off the mark in emphatic fashion, hooking a Chris Rushworth bouncer for a maximum.
Luis Reece reaches a milestone at Emirates Old Trafford, with two boundaries taking him past 1,000 first-class runs for Lancashire.
