All-rounder Ben Raine has extended his Leicestershire deal by another two years.
The 23-year-old, out of contract at the end of this summer, will now remain at Grace Road until at least the climax of the 2017 campaign.
Sunderland-born Raine has made a huge impression at Leicestershire since leaving home county Durham, breaking into the first team in all formats.
He struck 239 runs and took 18 wickets in seven LV= County Championship Division Two matches last term while also collecting 15 victims in the NatWest T20 Blast.
Raine also played his part in helping the Foxes secure a second XI treble in 2014, hitting a double-century in the Championship final against Essex.
He said: “These are exciting times at Leicestershire County Cricket Club and the club is in a great place with Wasim Khan as chief executive and Andrew McDonald as head coach.
“It’s nice to be able to start the season knowing that people are backing you. The environment is a great one to develop in with Andrew working with Ben Smith, Lloyd Tennant and all of the backroom staff.”
Raine follows Atif Sheikh, Lewis Hill and Aadil Ali in committing to the club in recent times.
Leicestershire and Rutland Cricket chief executive Wasim said: “Ben is a young all-rounder with lots of talent and potential and we are really pleased that he has extended his contract with us.
“We feel that Ben has a really bright future in the game and it’s further good news for the club after Atif Sheikh, Aadil Ali and Lewis Hill all committed their futures to us recently.”
