New Zealand all-rounder Corey Anderson will have to recover from a broken finger if he is to play in the upcoming Test series against England.
All-rounder Anderson, who has 10 Test caps, is to miss the remainder of the Indian Premier League season after suffering the injury with Mumbai Indians.
New Zealand are already set to arrive in England without several first-choice players, who will miss two tour matches and then fly in from the IPL just in time for the first Test at Lord's, which begins on May 21.
Kiwi seamer Adam Milne, uncapped at Test level, is also out injured - after having to sit out the latter stages of the World Cup with a heel problem.
After the two-Test series, New Zealand are due to face England in five one-day internationals and a one-off Twenty20 in June.
Radio New Zealand reported a spokesman for New Zealand Cricket saying that further comment on Anderson and Milne would only come after the pair return from India.
Anderson is due to join up with Somerset for the second half of the NatWest T20 Blast.
