5.29pm - Things are moving on at a cracking pace this evening. Hampshire, having secured a narrow first innings lead have made the worst start possible with Jimmy Adams falling to the first ball.
Alex Lees brings up his first century of the season with a cut for three off Patel, before the same bowler drops Andrew Gale off his own bowling.
Berg has picked up the final wicket of Rankin (4) & @CricketingBears are 280 all-out, Hants have a lead of 39 runs. pic.twitter.com/IagmuG0bgy

5.20pm - Jacques Rudolph has had a fine start to the summer. He made a century against Leicestershire last time out and has followed it up with a half-century against Surrey.
5.10pm - Tom Westley is the first man to fall in what promises to be a dramatic run chase for Essex. Ivan Thomas with the wicket. Jack Shantry has also fallen, but Worcestershire are edging ever closer to the first innings total of Sussex.
Below, you will see how to seriously put the mockers on a set batsman from our own Bibhash Dash...
Hosein gone! Spectacular one-handed return catch from Croft, 33. 262-8.
— Lancashire CCC (@LancsCCC) April 20, 2015
5.01pm - ecb.co.uk’s Bibhash Dash at Derbyshire (262/7) v Lancashire (293 all out): Derbyshire’s third recovery of the day (by my reckoning anyway!) is being led by Harvey Hosein. His four fours on the offside so far have been off the backfoot and straight out of the coaching manuals - precision and class combined. Conditions remain good for batting but with the new ball due in 12 overs, another massive effort will be needed for the hosts to survive till stumps.
Ambrose's knock has come to an end with James Tomlinson getting his man for 113, and Pujara is also on his way after whipping samit Patel straight to midwicket for 57.
4.49pm - Kent have been bowled out for 163, which leaves a target of 193 for Essex. Can they wrap up victory inside two days or will we see another twist in an eventful game?
Ajmal Shahzad is back in the attack and to good effect as he gets Kervezee caught in the cordon for 93, while back-to-back boundaries bring up Pujara's first half-century in Yorkshire colours.
WICKET: James Kettleborough departs for 15, bowled by Dunn. Glamorgan are 47/1. Rudolph 31*, Bragg 0*
— Glamorgan Cricket (@GlamCricket) April 20, 2015
4.37pm - Tim Ambrose has reached three figures at Edgbaston. The keeper has needed just 141 deliveries to reacj a vital century to rescue his side from a rather perilous position at 120 for six.
However there are worrying signs for Sussex as Tymal Mills hobbles off the pitch mid-over. Given the injury problems he's had in the last year I'd say that's a huge blow.
4.25pm - An excellent partnership of 65 between Jeetan Patel and Ambrose has been ended by Danny Briggs with Patel falling, but it has repaired some of the earlier damage.
Matt Coles could have inflicted some real damage on the Essex attack but he's gone cheaply to leave two second innings wickets left with Kent just 173 runs ahead.
Pujara dropped on 37 by first slip Wessels off Philander. Yorks 149-1
— Yorkshire CCC (@Yorkshireccc) April 20, 2015
4.10pm - ecb.co.uk’s Bibhash Dash at Derbyshire (229/7) v Lancashire (293 all out): Derbyshire again losing their way at the County Ground here! All that good work by Durston and Godleman, is now falling apart. Alex Hughes had been stringing another home recovery, after Godleman and Thakor departed, but he becomes another victim of spin in this session, caught at forward short-leg on the stroke of tea. Lancashire could well be out batting again today at this rate.
3.57pm - Kent managed to lose another wicket just before the interval and it is a big one with Northeast lbw to Smith for 77. Kent are 143 for seven. That still represents a handy lead of 172 runs over Essex in a low-scorer.
3.54pm - Glamorgan's openers survived the 12-over period they were left before tea to be 21 without loss after Surrey's declaration.
Derbyshire are 204 for six after Godleman fell to Kyle Jarvis, as shown in the video below.

3.46pm - The tea-time scores are starting to filter through. Warwickshire are 221 for seven on the back of Ambrose's unbeaten 73.
Yorkshire are 140 for one against Notts with Lees unbeaten on 68 after that life while Pujara is 31.
In the other Division One match, Worcestershire are 275 fir six against Sussex with Kervezee doing the damage in that session with an unbeaten 71 from 69 balls.
3.42pm - Sam Billings falls on the stroke of tea to Greg Smith, caught by Monty Panesar at fine-leg. Kent are 136 for six and ahead by 165 runs in a fast-moving contest at Chelmsford. Northeast is unbeaten on 73.
3.26pm - Lees gets a life on 59. It was a very tough chance for Patel who dived away to his right at second slip. Vernon Philander was the bowler.
3.16pm - Alexei Kervezee brings up his half-century. Five fours and a pair of sixes in his brisk innings so far.
3.12pm - Keith Barker is gone at Edgbaston for 31 following a 65-run stand with Ambrose. Sean Ervine makes the breakthrough with Adams taking the catch. Warwickshire trail by 134 runs.
Lancashire strike again as Tom Bailey has Shiv Thakor caught by Paul Horton at first slip without scoring. Derbyshire are 175 for five.
Wicket Watch: Durston dismissed by Kerrigan http://t.co/6kBRYhC1Tm
— Lancashire CCC (@LancsCCC) April 20, 2015
3.06pm - Another catch for James Foster as Stevens falls for a run-a-ball 36 to give Jesse Ryder his first wicket. Stevens had clattered the previous ball for six.
Lees gets to 50 at Trent Bridge as the champions continue to churn away at Notts' large first-innings score.
3.03pm - Luke Wells has strucks twice in the same over at Hove. Oliver falls first, for 101, after he drives to short extra-cover and then Ben Cox quickly follows lbw for a duck attempting to sweep.
2.56pm - Davies gets to his maiden first-class double-century and that is the cue for Surrey's declaration at 563 for seven. A marvellous innings from Davies has set it up for his bowlers to have a crack at Glamorgan for the rest of the day.
Sam Northeast has also reached a half-century to settle Kent at Chelmsford. With Darren Stevens providing the support the visitors are 93 for four with this stand worth 44 runs.
2.54pm - Tim Ambrose posts his fifty as he attempts to drag Warwickshire out of trouble.
Richard Oliver goes to his century off Wells. 100 not out and Worcestershire are 212/4 #GOSBTS
— Sussex CCC (@SussexCCC) April 20, 2015
2.43pm - Surrey might just be waiting for Steven Davies to reach his double-century before declaring. He's just clocked his career best - an unbeaten 194.
50 partnership 9.1 overs Oliver and Kervezee. Worcs 203-4 and first batting point. Oliver into the 90s.
— Worcestershire CCC (@WorcsCCC) April 20, 2015
2.34pm - ecb.co.uk’s Bibhash Dash at Derbyshire (146/3) v Lancashire (293 all out): Wes Durston is playing out of his skin, cracking two sumptuous fours through covers straight after Billy Godleman reached his half-century with a boundary. That came after their stand reached three figures. Not much stopping the duo, including the introduction of Peter Siddle back into the attack. Couple of moments of danger as Durston sets off for a run and is sent back, when a direct hit would have seen him walking. He then edges one but it just fails to carry to slip. "Steady on lad" shouts an enthusiastic spectator.
2.20pm - Lees finds the rope twice from a Gurney over as he and Cheteshwar Pujara look to rebuild after Rhodes' exit. Yorkshire are 90 for one.
WICKET! David Masters finds the edge to have Fabian Cowdrey caught by James Foster without score. Kent 49 for 4.#EssvKen
— Essex Cricket (@EssexCricket) April 20, 2015
2.10pm - ecb.co.uk’s Bibhash Dash at Derbyshire (108/3) v Lancashire (293 all out): Things look very good for Derbyshire. Wes Durston gets to his fifty with his sixth four, pulled through midwicket. Godleman has been happy to let him attack, but has not been without intent himself. It could be a long afternoon’s slog for Lancashire with these two still at the crease. The pitch has had very little assist for the Red Rose as well. Not a great combination when you've only got 293 on the board.
2.07pm - The wickets continue to tumble at Chelmsford as Rob Key is caught behind pushing at David Masters to leave Kent 43 for three.
Surrey lose another with Gareth Batty bowled by Carter, who now has four wickets. Could be time for Surrey to declare?
Warwickshire are in a bit of a hole at 120 for six as Andre Adams removes Rikki Clarke to an lbw decision. The Bears are 199 runs behind.
WICKET.. Magoffin strikes again as Kohler-Cadmore goes for 9, caught in the slips by sub fielder Harry Finch. Worcestershire 153/4 #GOSBTS
— Sussex CCC (@SussexCCC) April 20, 2015
1.58pm - Glamorgan looking to limit the damage after lunch have a sixth wicket as Gary Wilson is lbw to Andy Carter for five.
1.50pm - Steve Magoffin strikes immediately after lunch to trap Alex Gidman in front for 29.
There is a wicket at Trent Bridge too with Will Rhodes caught at second slip by Samit Patel trying to drive at Harry Gurney.
1.46pm - Surrey have gone past 500 in Cardiff. I would expect they will chase quick runs this session and send the hosts in.

1.41pm - ecb.co.uk’s Bibhash Dash at Derbyshire (74/3) v Lancashire (293 all out): The first 20 or so minutes after lunch will be absolutely crucial for Derbyshire. Wes Durston and Billy Godleman safely took them into the break and that partnership is nearing 50. Lancashire were unable to press home their advantage, but to their credit kept the attacking fields on till the last. An intriguing afternoon of cricket awaits us as the visiting side make their way out to the field preceded by the umpires with the weather dramatically improved since the start.
1.15pm - As promised, here is the state-of-play at lunch on the second day:
Division One
Alex Hales eventually fell for 236 of Nottinghamshire’s first-innings 428 before Alex Lees and Will Rhodes took champions Yorkshire to 62 without loss from 16 overs of their reply at Trent Bridge.
Despite Matthew Hobden’s quick double strike, Richard Oliver’s maiden Division One half-century lifted Worcestershire to 133 for two, 212 runs behind Sussex at the BrightonandHoveJobs.com County Ground.
Warwickshire are struggling on 92 for five in response to Hampshire’s 319 at Edgbaston.
Division Two
After Kumar Sangakkara fell for 149, Steven Davies’ unbeaten 167 led Surrey to 495 for five against Glamorgan at the SWALEC Stadium.
Kent are 12 for two in their second innings, leading by 41 after dismissing Essex, boosted by Graham Napier's half-century, for 164 at the Essex County Ground.
An unbroken fourth-wicket stand of 48 between Billy Godleman and Wes Durston helped Derbyshire recover from the loss of three early wickets, including two for Peter Siddle. The hosts are 74 for three in reply to Lancashire’s 293 at the 3aaa County Ground.

12.57pm - Jason Roy's knock of 32 ends when he edges Andy Carter behind. Surrey are 494 for five, Davis 167 not out.
Warwickshire batsman Sam Hain falls on the stroke of the interval, Andre Adams securing his first Hampshire wicket.
We will round-up the lunchtime scores for you shortly.
WICKET Daniel Bell-Drummond (4) flirts outside off and edges a ball from David Masters to James Foster. Kent are 9 for 2. #EssvKen
— Essex Cricket (@EssexCricket) April 20, 2015
12.49pm - ecb.co.uk’s Bibhash Dash at Derbyshire (61/3) v Lancashire (293 all out): The recovery looked shaky to begin with for Derbyshire, but Wes Durston eases some of the nerves with a classy cut four off Siddle to bring up the 50, and then carts Jarvis, who changes bowling ends, to the midwicket boundary. Godleman then strides forward and drives Jarvis through for another four as a supporter loudly urges the ball to the ropes. These two are looking good to carry on through until lunch now.
Openers Alex Lees and Will Rhodes take Yorkshire past 50 at Trent Bridge.
12.36pm - Wickets continue to tumble at the Essex County Ground. Kent are nought for one. Joe Denly's poor second bow continues as he departs to Jamie Porter for a duck.
12.32pm - Warwickshire are reduced to 72 for four, 247 runs behind Hampshire, after Sean Ervine traps Laurie Evans lbw for 16.
Well done to Richard Oliveron his first ever LV CC Division One 50. 119 balls, 7 fours. 50 stand in 17 overs Oliver and Gidman. Worcs112-2
— Worcestershire CCC (@WorcsCCC) April 20, 2015
12.25pm - Essex are dismissed for 164, conceding a first-innings deficit of 29. Mitchell Claydon ousts Mickleburgh and Monty Panesar is bowled by Coles, who returns figures of 4-48 on his second Kent debut.
Alex Gidman and Richard Oliver, closing in on a fifty, take Worcestershire into three figures at the BrightonandHoveJobs.com County Ground.
12.15pm - Napier's blitz comes to an end, Coles claiming his third victim. The big-hitting right-hander smashed 57 off just 40 balls, sharing in a stand of 80 with Mickleburgh, to claw Essex back into the match after a nightmare ending to day one.
10.3: #Wicket : Siddle has another caught in the slips, this time it's Madsen without scoring. Derbyshire 26-3; Godleman 11* #DERvLAN
— Derbyshire CCC (@DerbyshireCCC) April 20, 2015
12.09pm - ecb.co.uk’s Bibhash Dash at Derbyshire (18/2) v Lancashire (293 all out): Nightmare start for Guptill as he’s gone without troubling the scorers. Siddle failed to trouble the batsmen much earlier, but Guptill found himself prodding forward uncertainly at a length delivery. All he could do was edge to second slip where Tom Smith took a smart catch. Derbyshire in trouble already
12.04pm - Sangakkara fails to join Davies on 150, hitting David Lloyd to extra-cover to depart one run short of the milestone and end a 294-run stand. Nevertheless, a brilliant way to mark his Surrey debut. And I suspect there could be many more superb innings to come this term!
Essex are fighting hard courtesy of a half-century from Graham Napier. Jaik Mickleburgh is at the other end on 43, the pair helping their side to within 50 of Kent's 193.

11.58am - ecb.co.uk’s Bibhash Dash at Derbyshire (17/1) v Lancashire (293 all out): Bailey strikes in his very first over. And to be fair, Slater looked uncomfortable against it and eventually fell lbw to the fifth ball. Plenty of applause for Martin Guptill, who easily sees off the final delivery.

— Yorkshire CCC (@Yorkshireccc) April 20, 2015
11.51am - ecb.co.uk’s Bibhash Dash at Derbyshire (17/0) v Lancashire (293 all out): Not the quickest of outfields this morning at the 3aaa County Ground. Derbyshire openers Billy Godleman and Ben Slater having to earn their runs, with Peter Siddle and Kyle Jarvis also finding decent bounce. Slater drives Jarvis through cover for Derbyshire’s first four – in the sixth over. In non-cricket news, a fellow scribe has put on his sunglasses with another regretting leaving his at home. Inevitable.
11.42am - Hales' outstanding 282-ball innings ends when he is bowled by Steven Patterson for 236. The right-hander struck 38 fours and one maximum. Maximum bowling bonus points for Yorkshire.
War v Ham Ham lead by 280 runs War 39 for 2 (14.2 overs) WKT - Westwood c Vince b Tomlinson 11 http://t.co/MvmGD1jgZa #totalcricketscorer
— Warwickshire CCC (@CricketingBears) April 20, 2015
11.35am - Sangakkara and Hales take Surrey and Nottinghamshire respectively to maximum bonus batting points. Hales has 236 to his name but loses Vernon Philander, caught at slip by Jack Leaning off Jack Brooks.
Hampshire make a breakthrough at Edgbaston when Gareth Berg removes Varun Chopra for 24, leaving the score 39 for one.
11.24am - Another blow for Worcestershire. Tom Fell, a centurion last week, edges Hobden behind for three. Hopefully this is not the start of a similar collapse they suffered against Yorkshire last week.
WICKET Greg Smith falls to Darren Stevens when he edges to Matt Coles at 2nd slip. He failed to score and Essex are 69 for 7. #Ess v Ken
— Essex Cricket (@EssexCricket) April 20, 2015
11.13am - ecb.co.uk’s Bibhash Dash at Derbyshire v Lancashire (293 all out): Just as the sun starts to break out properly, Lancashire’s innings comes to an end having added just one run. Tom Taylor finishes things off. First he bowls Simon Kerrigan for nought with a good short-of-a-length delivery and then has Tom Bailey caught at slip.

11.10am - Worcestershire advance past 50 in the first over of the day against Sussex, but Daryl Mitchell is bowled by Matthew Hobden shortly afterwards for 26.
11am - ecb.co.uk’s Bibhash Dash at Derbyshire v Lancashire (292/8): Early overcast conditions are very slowly – very, very slowly - easing off at the 3aaa County Ground. A gentle smattering of spectators have also slowly made their way to the stands. Overall, Derbyshire will be hoping to knock off the final two Lancashire wickets in double-quick time. Ashley Giles is the last man off the field after pre-play warm-ups, as he exits from just under the press box. Dedication.

Division One
Alex Hales made champions Yorkshire, who handed a Championship debut to 17-year-old seamer Matthew Fisher, regret their decision to field at Trent Bridge by hitting an unbeaten 222 in Nottinghamshire’s 393 for seven.
Scotland international Matt Machan, playing instead of the ill Michael Yardy, grabbed his first-team chance with both hands by blasting 135 off 100 balls, before Worcestershire fought back to bowl Sussex out for 345 at the BrightonandHoveJobs.com County Ground. The visitors resume on 45 without loss, 300 runs behind.
Boyd Rankin returned figures of 6-75 to dismiss Hampshire, boosted by fifties from Adam Wheater and Jimmy Adams, for 319 at Edgbaston. Warwickshire reached stumps on 14 without loss.
Division Two
Sri Lanka great Kumar Sangakkara marked his Surrey debut with an unbeaten 112, three more than Steven Davies, to propel his side to 363 for three against Glamorgan at the SWALEC Stadium.
Darren Stevens hit 50 then took three wickets to help Kent, who were dismissed for 193, reduce Essex to 67 for six following a remarkable opening day at the Essex County Ground.
Alviro Petersen, making his Lancashire bow, contributed 115 of the Red Rose’s 292 for eight versus Derbyshire at the 3aaa County Ground.
