CENTURY for Jaik Mickleburgh completed with a boundary through cover off Shiv Thakor. 186 balls and 13 fours. Essex 187 for 4 Foakes 12.

5:19pm - Unfortunately for Sussex, Steve Magoffin's strike earlier in the session has done nothing to derail Middlesex and Sam Robson's supreme batting efforts. Robson moved past 150 with a straight four off Chris Jordan and his side are 377 for four.
5:09pm - RESULT! Glamorgan (474 & 183/5) have drawn with Lancashire (567) at Emirates Old Trafford. Rees' knock was indeed of the match-saving variety. He finished unbeaten on 107, with Nathan McCullum contributing a useful 35 after England Lion Simon Kerrigan's heroics threatened to force a win for the Division Two leaders.
5:06pm - RESULT! Warwickshire (463 & 180/6d) have beaten Nottinghamshire (217 & 210) by 216 runs at Edgbaston. Rankin had the final word, Luke Fletcher caught by Will Porterfield, and the defending champions' resurgence continues.
5:04pm - Patterson strikes again to remove Wes Durston lbw for a duck.
Meanwhile, victory seems to be beyond Yorkshire's Roses rivals. Glamorgan are 180 for five heading into the final hour at Emirates Old Trafford and Gareth Rees has moved to an unbeaten and almost certainly match-saving century.
5pm - Woakes has done just that and Warwickshire have the wicket they wanted! After beating the outside edge and having a strong lbw appeal rejected, he has Hussey taken by Varun Chopra at slip for 33.
4:57pm - It looks like a thankless task for Derbyshire at Chesterfield. Steven Patterson has induced an inside edge to have Wayne Madsen caught behind and Yorkshire have their hosts 52 for two in response to 617 for five declared.
Warwickshire's victory push has been bolstered by the second new ball. England duo Boyd Rankin and Chris Woakes are the men entrusted with using it wisely.
4:51pm - Graeme Cessford bowls Craig Miles to wrap up the Gloucestershire innings for 326. Their lead is a considerable 144 but, having been 301 for six at tea, Worcestershire might have faced an even steeper task.
4:47pm - If Notts are to somehow emerge from Edgbaston with a draw, much will depend upon David Hussey. The experienced Australian has battled his way to 21 not out and the path of least resistance for Warwickshire might be to ensure he runs out of partners.
4:38pm - Away from the live action, Surrey have confirmed the signing of Ireland all-rounder Kevin O'Brien for their next three Friends Life t20 games. We'll have the full story for you later on ecb.co.uk.
WICKET..Bowled him! Dexter tries to drive Magoffin and is clean bowled. He's gone for 48 and Middlesex are 332/4 #GOSBTS
— Sussex CCC (@SussexCCC) July 18, 2013
4:33pm - The end would appear to be nigh for Nottinghamshire. Patel has another victim as Andre Adams is caught at short-leg by Ian Westwood.
In scenes of considerably less finality, Gloucestershire's innings is also coming to a close. They're 313 for nine first time around at Cheltenham.
4:26pm - Glen Chapple is into the attack in Manchester to allow a switch of ends for Kerrigan, who has accounted for all five Glamorgan wickets today. Lancashire's veteran captain has made a career of dragging his side to victories and he might sense it's that time again.
4:22pm - Gloucestershire have lost their eighth wicket, Miles Hammond caught at slip off the bowling of Gareth Andrew. They lead Worcestershire by 124 in their first innings but this is a handy fightback by the visitors.
4:16pm - Lancashire resume in pursuit of what looked an improbable victory over Glamorgan a few hours ago. It's spin from both ends at Emirates Old Trafford as Andrea Agathangelou joins Simon Kerrigan in the attack.
4:07pm - Warwickshire enjoy the perfect start to their evening victory push as Samit Patel bowls Ajmal Shahzad with the first ball after tea. Nottinghamshire are 171 for seven.
3:54pm - We can bring you the following tea-time scores from around the country:
Division One
Nottinghamshire are 171 for six at Edgbaston, pursuing a notional 427 on the final day against Warwickshire.
Middlesex are 308 for three on day two at the BrightonandHoveJobs.com County Ground and lead Sussex by 79.
Derbyshire are 28 for one in reply to Yorkshire's mammoth 617 for five declared on day two at Chesterfield.
Division Two
Glamorgan lead Lancashire by 23 on 116 for five after losing a quintet of batsmen to Simon Kerrigan on the final afternoon at Emirates Old Trafford.
At Canterbury, Hampshire are 168 for four and lead Kent by 56 with one session remaining in the match.
Gloucestershire are 301 for six on day two at Cheltenham and lead Worcestershire by 119.
Essex are 129 for three in reply to Leicestershire's 365 on day two at Chelmsford.
3:45pm - Gloucestershire lose Hamish Marshall prior to tea at Cheltenham, which they reach on 301 for six, leading by 119.
We are having one or two issues with live scoring just now, so bear with us while we try and sum up the scores around the country.
3:30pm - It's all going wrong for Notts. Read is lbw to Jeetan Patel for one, which means three wickets have gone down for one run inside five overs.
Kerrigan now has four wickets in three individual overs, five in the innings and 12 in the match at Emirates Old Trafford. His latest victim is Mark Wallace and Glamorgan are effectively 10 for five.
After getting Derbyshire going with a trio of fours, Chesney Hughes is pinned in front by Ryan Sidebottom.
3:22pm - Kerrigan has another! What a remarkable performance this is from Lancashire's left-arm spinner. Jim Allenby goes first-ball and Kerrigan will start his next over on a hat-trick.
Ever since ecb.co.uk mentioned three draws looking likely, wickets have tumbled in the games now into their fourth day. Charlie Shreck ousts Sean Ervine at Canterbury to keep Kent's slim victory hopes flickering.
Derbyshire are progressing cautiously in response to Yorkshire's mammoth total, with no run off the bat coming in the first five overs of the reply.
That's a century for Sam Robson. He's 102no as Middlesex move on to 258/3 with 41 overs remaining today. A lead of 29 over Sussex #GOSBTS
— Sussex CCC (@SussexCCC) July 18, 2013
3:18pm - Warwickshire will certainly fancy their chances now! Will Porterfield takes a second catch in as many overs, this one off Rikki Clarke, to send Samit Patel back to the pavilion.
Moments after edging ahead of their hosts, Glamorgan lose Chris Cooke to Kerrigan, who now has match figures of 10-207!
3:11pm - Lancashire are not giving up on winning just yet. First-innings centurion Murray Goodwin becomes Kerrigan's ninth victim in the match and Glamorgan trail by five on 88 for two.
Warwickshire, meanwhile, have resurrected their victory push! Jeetan Patel snares Hales for 58 so Notts are four down with more than a session still to come.
Middlesex pick up a second batting point. Robson now has 94.
Owais Shah falls to Alex Wyatt before Essex reach 100 for the loss of three wickets.
3:04pm - Hampshire's Liam Dawson, Gareth Rees of Glamorgan and Essex opener Jaik Mickelburgh all record fifties in the afternoon sun.
Notts are edging ever closer to safety at Edgbaston and we could well have a trio of draws confirmed this evening, with positive results appearing unlikely at Emirates Old Trafford and Canterbury.
Gloucestershire 262-5. Howell run out by Kervezee without scoring.
— Gloucestershire CCC (@Gloscricket) July 18, 2013
RECORD: Lees score of 275 not out the third highest ever individual score at Queen’s Park, Chesterfield.
— Derbyshire CCC (@derbyshireccc) July 18, 2013
2:58pm - Lees, very much the star of this round of fixtures, strikes his first six and is unbeaten on 275 when Yorkshire declare on 617 for five, Adil Rashid's departure to Mark Footitt prompting Andrew Gale to call his men in.
2:53pm - Clearly not satisfied with his seven-wicket first-innings haul, Simon Kerrigan removes Will Bragg to claim a first breakthrough in Glamorgan's second dig. Lancashire need to do something pretty special to win from here, however.
Roderick falls to Moeen Ali for 71, but Gloucestershire remain in control, leading Worcestershire by 79 with six first-innings wickets still intact.
600-4.
— Yorkshire CCC (@Yorkshireccc) July 18, 2013
2:34pm - Prior to this week, Lees' highest first-class score was 121. The Yorkshire youngster has now passed 250.
Debutant James Sykes snares a maiden first-class wicket for Leicestershire, ousting Greg Smith to leave Essex 75 for two.
Middlesex, for whom Sam Robson is approaching three figures, surpass Sussex's 229 for the loss of two wickets but then lose Adam Voges for 20.
Alex Hales moves to a fifty at Edgbaston, taking his stand with the aggressive Patel past 50 in the process.
2:24pm - Gidman is out at Cheltenham, caught behind off Alan Richardson for 62.
Ballance's fun is also over; he's fallen for 66 after striking four maximums and as many fours.
Glamorgan have made a solid start to their second innings and a draw appears inevitable at Emirates Old Trafford.
Hampshire are ahead now, but three down following James Tredwell's dismissal of James Vince. Could Kent force a positive result?
100 stand now between Ballance and Lees. 572-3.

2:15pm - Gary Ballance reaches the latest milestone for Yorkshire, an 88-ball fifty, and celebrates with his third maximum.
Leicestershire have a first wicket and Hamish Rutherford is the man to go for 24.
2:06pm - Samit Patel starts with a flurry of boundaries at Edgbaston. Fours and sixes are also coming thick and fast at Chesterfield, where Yorkshire are 544 for three with Alex Lees 237 not out.
Hampshire lose Michael Carberry to James Tredwell for 66, meaning they are two down and still four runs in arrears on day four at Canterbury.
Gareth Roderick follows Gidman past 50 for dominant Gloucestershire.
1:52pm - Warwickshire still have plenty of time as they look to record a second successive win and Boyd Rankin has trapped James Taylor lbw to leave Nottinghamshire three down.
Essex have moved to 50 without loss, while Gloucestershire have a first batting point and will be aiming to build a huge lead at Cheltenham. They are 210 for two in response to Worcestershire's inadequate 182, Alex Gidman having passed 50.
1:45pm - The players are back out for the afternoon session in the majority of today's LV= County Championship fixtures.
Sussex have landed a much-needed blow at the BrightonandHoveJobs.com County Ground, Joe Denly falling for 77 to a catch at midwicket off Steve Magoffin.
1:11pm - Lancashire lose their last two wickets in quick succession to be dismissed for 567, while Hampshire's Michael Carberry has followed up a big first-innings century by moving beyond 50. It's now lunch everywhere and here are the scores:
Division One
Middlesex are 180 for one having dismissed Sussex for 229 on day two at the BrightonandHoveJobs.com County Ground.
Nottinghamshire are 78 for two in their second innings, chasing 427 on the final day against Warwickshire.
Yorkshire are 509 for three on day two against Derbyshire at Chesterfield
Division Two
Hampshire are 92 for one in their second innings, trailing Kent by 93 heading into the final day at Canterbury.
Gloucestershire are 193 for two on day two after dismissing Worcestershire for 182 at Cheltenham
Lancashire are 567 all out, 93 runs ahead of Glamorgan in their first innings heading into the last day at Emirates Old Trafford.
Essex are 24 without loss replying to Leicestershire's 365 at Chelmsford.
12:55pm - Gareth Cross keeps Lancashire ticking over by reaching a half-century, while Yorkshire's total is now beyond 500.
12:40pm - The ecb.co.uk curse strikes Lumb, who now predictably departs when edging Keith Barker behind. Middlesex are prospering, though, with Sam Robson following Denly to 50.
12:29pm - Michael Lumb and Alex Hales are repelling champions Warwickshire impressively with Notts seemingly targeting survival rather than an unlikely victory target of 427.
Lancashire lose an eighth wicket as Glen Chapple falls to Dean Cosker for a quick 31, while Middlesex's Joe Denly has reached his fifty.
12:21pm - Lancashire, now in the lead, bring up their 500. Leicestershire are dismissed for 365 as Napier finishes with 5-77, while Derbyshire's Peter Burgoyne has bowled Andrew Gale for 74.
12:10pm - What a moment for young Alex Lees, who brings up his maiden first-class double-century as Yorkshire continue to prosper. In Division Two, Leicestershire have fallen away this morning, Josh Cobb becoming Napier's latest victim.
WICKET: Adams is trapped lbw by Tredwell for 12 and Hampshire are now 45-1, trailing Kent by 63 runs.
— Hampshire Cricket (@hantscricket) July 18, 2013
11:57am - Two wickets in an over is becoming a common theme, Napier right on cue when breaking Ned Eckersley's resistance for 147 - see what I did there! - before bowling Anthony Ireland.
11:54am - Lancashire, trailing by just 11 runs, lose Luke Procter for 75 and Kyle Hogg for one in the same Nathan McCullum over, the former bowled and latter trapped lbw.
Gloucestershire are still in command despite slipping to 129 for two when Moeen Ali has Chris Dent stumped for 79.
11:47am - Yorkshire continue to pile the misery on Derbyshire, Andrew Gale moving beyond 50.
11:39am - And now some not-so-good news for Leicestershire supporters: Boyce has gone, caught behind off Graham Napier.
11:24am - Dawid Malan, a player in a rich vein of Twenty20 form, is caught behind off Sussex's James Anyon, while Gloucestershire have lost Michael Klinger to Alan Richardson. Good news for Leicestershire fans, though: Matthew Boyce has reached a half-century.
11:13am - Warwickshire have claimed a first wicket as they push for victory against Nottinghamshire, Chris Woakes bowling Steven Mullaney.
