Nottinghamshire seamer Andy Carter will join Glamorgan on a month's loan ahead of the opening round of LV= County Championship fixtures, starting on Sunday. He is expected to go straight into the Glamorgan team to face Leicestershire.
Carter, who topped the Nottinghamshire bowling averages in Division One of the LV= County Championship last season, has recovered from the back injury that cut short his 2014 campaign and will be available for Division Two red-ball matches against Leicestershire, Surrey, and Derbyshire.
Nottinghamshire have a wealth of bowling talent, having added Will Gidman and Vernon Philander to their ranks with Luke Fletcher, Jake Ball, Harry Gurney and Sam Wood also competing for first-team spots at Trent Bridge.
Carter said: "I'm very determined to succeed at Glamorgan and it's a move that benefits all three parties as I'm keen to play first-class cricket and Nottinghamshire want me to be involved in competitive matches.
"I don't think that the loan system is used enough as there are a lot of good bowlers playing second-team cricket who would benefit much more from finding a county in need of players.
"I've never been one to sit around and my previous loan move to Essex worked out well for me and helped me to break into the Nottinghamshire team."
