The International Cricket Council have approved the move to call up Matt Henry to the squad as a replacement for the 23-year-old.
Henry, who has played just eight one-day internationals in his fledgling New Zealand career to date, will join up with Brendon McCullum’s squad who are hoping to make history by becoming the first Black Caps side to reach the final of the World Cup.
