Sussex have announced David Bowden has been nominated to become the county’s new president, succeeding former player Jim Parks.
Bowden first joined the club in 2004 as a co-opted director and then as an elected one, while he has also chaired the Sussex Cricket in the Community Trust during a period of expansion for the charity.
He said: “I am honoured to be nominated for this prestigious position, following in the footsteps of some illustrious ex-players and prominent businessmen.
“In representing the county, I intend to be an active, energetic and entirely enthusiastic president by continuing to build partnerships between all aspects of our wonderful sport, with a view to inspiring a passion for cricket in the heart of the community.”
Sussex chairman Jim May added: “It is entirely appropriate that David is the president as we aim to strengthen cricket in Sussex at all levels.”
