Hampshire have announced the departure of seam-bowling all-rounder Matt Coles by mutual consent.
The 24-year-old arrived at the Ageas Bowl from Kent on a three-year deal in September 2013 following a successful loan spell.
Coles took 41 wickets and hit 251 runs in 15 LV= County Championship Division Two matches as Hampshire secured promotion to the top flight last season, his first full campaign on the south coast.
He also showed his capabilities in the limited-overs arena, hitting the fastest half-century of the 2014 NatWest T20 Blast with an 18-ball fifty against Essex Eagles as Hampshire reached finals day.
But the former England Lion has failed to settle at Hampshire and is now looking for another county.
A Hampshire statement read: “Matt has performed well for the club in his short time at the Ageas Bowl but he has not settled as he, or we, would have liked. As a result, it has been agreed that he should develop his career elsewhere.
“Hampshire would like to thank him for his efforts and wish him well for the future.”
