Glamorgan wicketkeeper Mark Wallace has been re-elected as chairman of the Professional Cricketers' Association for two more years.

The 33-year-old, who has been succeeded as Glamorgan captain by Jacques Rudolph in all formats for this season, was re-elected unopposed for a second term at the PCA's annual general meeting in Birmingham yesterday evening.

PCA chief executive Angus Porter made his admiration clear for Wallace's work, on and off the pitch.

"Mark Wallace is a really good chairman for the PCA," he said.

"When Vikram Solanki stood down we thought he would be a tough act to follow, and indeed he was. But Mark has been brilliant.

Mark Wallace, who has been re-elected as PCA chairman, has played a remarkable 215 consecutive four-day games for Glamorgan

"He is fully engaged; he is always available and he offers a pretty clear steer on what he wants - which is all that anybody within an organisation like this can ask for.

"Of course, while all this was going on, he achieved an unbroken run of four-day appearances for Glamorgan of 215 games - which is an extraordinary achievement for any player, let alone a wicketkeeper."

Wallace said: "Being PCA chairman is a great job - I've really enjoyed doing it. The first term has been fantastic, and to have another two years is great.

"It's a fantastic organisation; we have some great people involved in it, and I think it is just going from strength to strength."
