Ageas Bowl to host Australia prospects

The latest intakes of the Elite International Cricket Academy have been announced, to be based at the Ageas Bowl for the third successive year.

The Cricket Australia initiative introduces four Australian players to local league clubs for the upcoming season and allows the youngsters to use the facilities and develop their talents at the academy.

Jake Doran, Tom Andrews, Sebastian Gotch and Sean Willis are the promising players who will be looking to continue the success of the programme.

Jake Doran, 18, recently played against England for a Prime Minister's XI and featured in this year's Big Bash League

Doran, who previously played against a touring England side in 2013 at the age of just 16 and represented a Prime Minister's XI last month, will be joining Henley, while Andrews is due to feature Bashley Rydal, Willis for Ventnor in the Isle of Wight and Gotch is set to turn out for Lymington.

Elite International Cricket Academy manager Richard Browning said: “We are building a fantastic reputation for developing the next generation of international cricketers and the calibre of the four players joining our Gold Summer Development Programme is testament to the provision on offer here.

“We know all four players are highly thought of in Australia and we are looking forward to developing them further here at the Ageas Bowl.”
