Middlesex have announced that young batsman Ryan Higgins has signed a new deal at the club.
The 20-year-old has penned a three-year contract to stay at Lord’s until at least the end of the 2017 season after impressing with the bat.
Higgins, an England Under-19 international, made his debut in the NatWest T20 Blast when he hit an unbeaten 44 in an eight-wicket win and continued to feature in the Royal London One-Day Cup.
Commenting on the deal, Middlesex managing director of cricket Angus Fraser said: “Ryan made a really encouraging impression on everybody at Middlesex during his first year full season on our staff.
“When playing for the first XI he gave everyone a number of glimpses of what he is capable of producing, he was also outstanding in the second XI. We have high hopes of him developing into a fine cricketer, and this contract reflects that.”
