Sri Lanka have added Sachithra Senanayake, who has been cleared by the ICC to resume bowling in international cricket, to their squad for the fifth and sixth one-day internationals with England after fellow spinner Rangana Herath was injured in training today.
Senanayake was reported for a suspect bowling action during May’s Royal London one-day international versus England at Lord’s.
He played in the series’ remaining ODI at Edgbaston where he notably dismissed Jos Buttler with a 'Mankad' run-out. Unrelated to that incident, Senanayake was suspended from international bowling on July 12 after testing at Cardiff Metropolitan University.

The 29-year-old has since remodelled his action, which was re-tested at an ICC-accredited facility in Chennai last month.
Another off-spinner, New Zealand batting all-rounder Kane Williamson, has also today been approved to resume bowling in internationals.
The 24-year-old, who has had stints with Yorkshire for the last two summers, was banned from bowling in internationals during mid-July and has played as a specialist batsman for his country since. Like Senanayake, he was tested in Chennai.
The fifth Sri Lanka-England ODI is tomorrow and the sixth on Saturday. Both are in Kandy. The hosts lead the seven-game series 3-1.
