England seamer Tash Farrantand England Under-19 international Grace Gibbs were guests of honour at the annual Kent Under-11 Girls awards presentation.
The two rising stars, who this year helped Kent win the Women’s County Championship for the sixth time in nine seasons, witnessed a stunning photo and music show, answered questions from each girl and then presented medals and trophies to every member of the U11 squad.
David Sear, manager of the Kent U11 Girls, said: “It was great to have Tash and Grace at our do.
“They both spent three years each in our under-11s from 2004/07 and they are the first under-11 girls to be invited back to make presentations to the current squad.
“We trawled the archives to find photos of them when they were primary school kids and showed a movie to compare ‘then and now’, a remarkable journey of nearly 10 years.
“We were also thrilled to have with us the County Championship Trophy and the Royal London One-Day Cup.
“What Tash and Grace said at the question and answer session was captivating and inspiring, which sent a powerful message to the girls and their parents that playing at the highest level is not that far away if you have the desire and work hard.”
