Pace bowler Oliver Newby and opening batsman Andrea Agathangelou have become the first players to be released by Lancashire at the start of a new era at Emirates Old Trafford.
Newby, 30, has spent 12 years with his native county - playing more than 100 matches across the formats.
South Africa-born Cypriot Agathangelou has been attached to Lancashire since he joined them on a scholarship as a 20-year-old in 2010, but did not prove the answer to their lack of top-order runs as they were relegated from Division One of the LV= County Championship this past summer.
Glen Chapple, who is to be an assistant off the field to new head coach Ashley Giles from next season, wished both players well.
He said: "Oliver has not been able to hold down a regular spot in the side, and I hope there is an opportunity for him to do so elsewhere.
"Andrea is an extremely talented cricketer with a good attitude and, given the right opportunity, he could reach his true potential."
