Glamorgan have revealed that young batsman James Kettleborough has been offered a two-year contract with the club.
The 21-year-old made his debut for Northamptonshire earlier this summer, and went on to make nine appearances as they were relegated from Division One, recording a top score of 73.
Kettleborough gained notoriety for breaking the batting record of Alastair Cook while at Bedford School.
In confirming the offer to Kettleborough, Hugh Morris, Glamorgan's chief executive and director of cricket said: "At a time when we are re-building our squad, especially in four-day cricket, James' talent has impressed us.
"He has scored three half-centuries in the first division of the Championship to confirm that he is a young player of real potential, as testified by his outstanding record at Bedford School."
"We believe that James, together with our highly promising crop of home-grown youngsters, can play a major part in the Club's development in the course of the next few years."
The move comes after the club announced earlier in the month that batsmen Murray Goodwin, Gareth Rees, Mike Reed, Stewart Walters and Tom Lancefield were all to leave the club at the end of the season.
