6.15pm - Here's how things stand in the six games heading into their final day, plus a summary of wins for Essex and Glamorgan. Join us tomorrow as the drama concludes and we expect to see a new county champion crowned.
Yorkshire are within touching distance of the title, with as Nottinghamshire slumped to 145 for five following on, still 180 runs in arrears at Trent Bridge.
Should Notts somehow save themselves, Warwickshire are on course to take the maximum points win they would need to stay in the hunt. They have Northamptonshire 149 for five, still needing 151 to make the hosts bat against at Edgbaston. Earlier, Sam Hain become the county’s youngest first-class double centurion.
Middlesex are 44 for one, chasing 396 to win following another impressive day for Durham at Lord’s. England opener Sam Robson is unbeaten on 34.
If Middlesex lose, Lancashire need a win over Sussex to guarantee a final-week relegation shoot-out with the London club. The Red Rose have much to do, having lost Ashwell Prince for 85 before reaching stumps on 203 for four - a second-innings lead of 89.
Essex took 13 minutes to wrap up a nine-wicket win over Kent to keep their promotion hopes alive at the Essex County Ground.
Glamorgan dismissed Derbyshire for 154 to secure a 106-run win at the SWALEC Stadium. Michael Hogan was the pick of a fine bowling display with 4-38.
Jack Shantry struck a blistering maiden century as Worcestershire set Surrey 217 to win at New Road. The visitors reached 30 for one at stumps. Victory would seal promotion for Worcestershire.
Gloucestershire are 23 for one in their second innings, 104 ahead of Leicestershire after Ned Eckersley and Niall O’Brien scored hundreds on another day of heavy run-scoring at Bristol.
6pm - Surrey reach the close on 30 for one. They need another 187 to win tomorrow. The game at Lord’s is the only one still on-going, owing to the earlier bad-light delay, and we’ll have a close of play summary with you shortly.
5.45pm - Huge, huge moment an over before the close at the BrightonandHoveJobs.com County Ground. Steve Magoffin and Ashar Zaidi have really put the breaks on Lancashire over the last hour or so and the latter has Prince caught at short-leg for 85. The visitors are 202 for four and lead by 88 as they battle for Division One survival.
5.37pm - Keedy diligently sees off the final over from Adil Rashid with plenty of company around the bat and Notts head back indoors for no further loss. But Yorkshire are almost there. Five wickets tomorrow and they are champions.
Stumps are also drawn at Bristol, with the hosts 23 for one, while there will be an inspection shortly at Lord’s.
WICKET! Patel takes the wicket of Adam Rossington (44) with Sam Hain taking the catch. Northants 127/5 and Duckett is the new batsman.

— Worcestershire CCC (@WorcsCCC) September 11, 2014
5.15pm - Bowled him! Ryan Sidebottom bustles in from around the wicket and Riki Wessels plays all around it to have his off-stump sent cartwheeling. In comes nightwatchman Gary Keedy.
5.09pm - Not the start Middlesex wanted to their sizeable run chase - Hastings traps compatriot Chris Rogers lbw for four. Next over the teams are off for bad light.
5.05pm - Belatedly, Bristol is looking like a fun place to bowl - Ollie Freckingham has Chris Dent caught behind and Gloucestershire are eight for one. Surely it can’t last?
4.59pm - Taylor brings up a half-century following a fair bit of hard graft. Nottinghamshire will need plenty more of it.
4.50pm - Dernbach bowls Morris for a duck to complete figures of 4-72. Shantry is left not out on 101 and Surrey will need 217 to win. And remember, victory would seal promotion for Worcestershire.
Smith, Miles and Liam Norwell end with three wickets apiece for their considerable efforts as Leicestershire are 565 all out - a deficit of 81.
WICKET AND END OF INNINGS - Durham 294. Chase LBW b Rayner 0. Muchall 74*. Target is 396 with 12 overs remaining today. #middlesex150

4.47pm - Dear, oh dear. Samit Patel completes a regulation leave off Steven Patterson but lifts his back foot to be stumped by Jonny Bairstow for 25. It ends a 53-run partnership with James Taylor, who is 42 not out.
Century for Shantry - a blistering maiden ton from the Worcestershire man featuring 18 fours and a pair of sixes. He must continue alongside number 11 Charles Morris as Jade Dernbach traps McClenaghan lbw for 23.
4.44pm - RESULT! Glamorgan (282 & 181) beat Derbyshire (203 & 154) by 106 runs at the SWALEC Stadium. Graham Wagg gets rid of Mark Footitt to complete an impressive win for Glamorgan. Hogan was the pick of a fine home bowling performance with 4-38. Wagg, Allenby and David Lloyd took two wickets apiece.

4.32pm - Hogan takes his fourth of the innings as wicketkeeper Mark Wallace holds on once more to dismiss David Wainwright.
Worcestershire continue to make merry at New Road. Shantry is 92 not out and has added 57 in nine overs with Mitchell McClenaghan for the ninth wicket. The lead is 202 and what looked like a potentially straightforward win for Surrey a few hours ago is now anything but.
4.26pm - Not too many Middlesex players will be looking back on their efforts against Durham with any great fondness up to this point, but seamer Tim Murtagh has a second five-wicket haul in the match after removing John Hastings for 28.
Leicestershire 549-8. Freckingham caught at mid-wicket off Norwell for one. Trail Gloucestershire by 97 runs.
— Gloucestershire CCC (@Gloscricket) September 11, 2014

4.04pm - Jeetan Patel began his second-innings work with two maidens and, from his 13th ball, the Warwickshire off-spinner has James Kettleborough caught by Rikki Clarke for 25.

3.55pm - Durston falls caught at the wicket off Michael Hogan for 72 and Glamorgan will fancy their chances of wrapping this up quickly now.
3.52pm - Gordon Muchall takes four off Neil Dexter to bring up his fifty. Durham’s lead is 334.
3.45pm - Niall O’Brien goes for 119, caught at cover by Ian Cockbain off Craig Miles one ball after hitting his fifth and final six.
3.27pm - Jim Allenby breaches Wayne White’s defences to pick up his second wicket. Glamorgan three wickets away from victory.
And that's tea! Lancs are two ahead with seven wickets in hand in their second innings. 116-3 after 36 overs. Prince 36, Croft 2.
— Lancashire CCC (@LancsCCC) September 11, 2014
3.23pm - Jack Shantry brings up a 37-ball 50 to go with his six-wicket haul from yesterday. The stand with Joe Leach is worth 93 and this afternoon’s counter-attack has Worcestershire 130 ahead with three second-innings wickets remaining.
3.20pm - Impressive defiance from Wes Durston as he brings up his half-century. Derbyshire are 100 for six and need 161 more for an unlikely triumph.
3.16pm - Tea is taken at Trent Bridge and Lord’s, with the visitors enjoying very healthy positions in both matches. In the latter game, Paul Collingwood is caught behind off Steven Finn for 58 to herald the break. There’s also a 20-minute respite in the Bristol run-fest.
3.08pm - Niall O'Brien has also passed 100 for Leicestershire, going to 105 from just 100 balls. They are now 507 for four.
Karl Brown and Ashwell Prince put on a handy 55 for Lancashire but they have lost their third wicket before the scores are even as Brown perishes to the spin of Ashar Zaidi.

2.45pm - It's all happening at Trent Bridge. Alex Hales is fortunate to survive as a regulation catch is put down by Adam Lyth at second slip.

— Yorkshire CCC (@Yorkshireccc) September 11, 2014

2.09pm - Three successive boundaries from Read take Notts past 200 for a first batting bonus point, although it might not mean much in the race for the title as the last wicket pair continue to frustrate Yorkshire.
Matt Dunn traps Alexei Kervezee in front to keep Surrey on top.

— Middlesex Cricket (@Middlesex_CCC) September 11, 2014

1.50pm - Chris Read has been the lone soldier for Nottinghamshire and a brace of fours takes him to a well-earned half century.
Big wicket in the relegation battle though as Lancashire skipper Paul Horton departs with his side still trailing by 83.

1.40pm - It's not been a debut, or a summer, to remember for Cheteshwar Pujara. He has made just seven runs in the match after falling to Michael Hogan and a defeat for Derbyshire looks inevitable now.

1.18pm - Adil Rashid has a third wicket at Trent Bridge as Gary Keedy takes an ugly swipe and can only slice the ball straight into the hands of Tim Bresnan at leg slip.
1.12pm - The players have returned after a bite to eat and Josh Cobb and Scott Borthwick have fallen to the first balls after the interval. That means Durham have lost two wickets in as many balls either side of lunch.
12.50pm - Here is where we stand at lunch in all eight games:
Yorkshire’s charge towards the title remains unchecked at Trent Bridge as Nottinghamshire slumped to 139 for eight, losing four wickets this morning.
Sam Hain became the youngest first-class double-centurion for Warwickshire as they marched on to 518 for four against Northamptonshire. Jonathan Trott also hit 164 in a record 360-run stand.
Michael Richardson’s exit the ball before lunch left Durham 99 for four and 200 runs ahead of Middlesex at Lord’s.
Sussex were bowled out for 434 just before the interval to confirm a 114-run first-innings lead against Lancashire at the BrightonandHoveJobs.com County Ground.
Derbyshire are 16 for one as they chase a victory target of 261 against Glamorgan at the SWALEC Stadium.
Four morning-session wickets cast leaders Worcestershire into trouble, despite a Moeen Ali fifty, as they reached 120 for four to trail promotion rivals Surrey by 14 runs.
The run-filled contest at Bristol continues with Ned Eckersley and Dan Redfern both passing 50 this morning as Leicestershire progressed to 349 for three against Gloucestershire.
Essex took 13 minutes to wrap up a nine-wicket win over Kent to keep their promotion hopes alive.
12.32pm - Michael Richardson exits on the stroke of lunch at Lord's. The food at HQ rarely tastes bad, but the Durham man might not enjoy it as much as usual as Neil Dexter bowls him a ball before the break was due.
I'll round-up all the lunch scores in a moment....
WICKET..Hatchett turns Kerrigan to short leg and Sussex are ALL OUT for 434. That'll be LUNCH #GOSBTS
— Sussex CCC (@SussexCCC) September 11, 2014
12.21pm - Surrey claim an important wicket in the shadows of lunch - Moeen. It's the wily veteran Batty who does the job to pin him in front for 51 and the Pears are 111 for four and still needing 24 to get ahead.
Trott's stellar knock has also been ended. He goes for 164, to a catch in the deep, after a 360-run stand with Hain. As ever he departs having done the heavy lifting to ensure the game is set-up for his side.
Sam Hain has just become the youngest Warwickshire cricketer to score a double First Class century #YouBears

12.11pm - Jake Ball has made a very bad miscaluculation. He steps back to leave a Rashid googly that thuds into his back leg bang in front. Notts are almost bowled out and the question is whether Yorkshire send them straight back in.
Derbyshire have lost an early wicket in their chase with Graham Wagg prising out Ben Slater while there are half-centuries for Moeen Ali - Worcestershire need that - and Ned Eckersley in the south west.
12.07pm - Luke Fletcher has departed after frustrating Yorkshire for 50 balls. He swipes at Adil Rashid and sends a top-edge over Brooks, who makes good ground running back from cover to take the catch.
12.05pm - The England and Wales cricket Board has just released the list of centrally contracted players for the next 12 months.
Congrats to Atif Sheikh for his hat-trick in only his 2nd game for @leicsccc against @Gloscricket. Here it is #LVCChttp://t.co/McQmWKeX8c

11.46am - That new ball does work at Bristol as Liam Norwell accepts a return catch from Redfern. Gareth Batty bowls Tom Fell to leave Division Two leaders Worcestershire in some bother at 63 for three and 71 runs behind.
Ashar Zaidi reaches his half-century for Sussex but soon after Lancashire get their first wicket of the day - via a run out. Tom Smith's direct-hit from fine leg catches Chris Jordan short despite a full-length dive.
WICKET! Hogan is caught at mid-on off Palladino and Glamorgan are all out for 181! Derbyshire need 261 runs to win #GLAvDER
— Derbyshire CCC (@DerbyshireCCC) September 11, 2014
11.40am - Gloucestershire are taking the new ball shortly after Dan Redfern's half-century. The hosts hope the change will bring wickets as Leicestershire are looking like they can bat towards a draw at 306 for two.
11.32am - The stand between Jonathan Trott and Hain is now worth 328 which is a record for any Warwickshire partnership against Northamptonshire.
Footitt has a third wicket this morning - Kieran Bull without scoring - and Glamorgan are 176 for nine with a lead of 255 runs. We will be getting a result in Cardiff, maybe even today.
150 for Trott off 269 balls Bears 466-3
— Warwickshire CCC (@CricketingBears) September 11, 2014
11.20am - Dernbach nabs a second, getting Richard Oliver caught behind, while Derbyshire's good morning continues on with Footitt removing Mark Wallace to a catch at point.
11.09am - Ryan Sidebottom pushes a delivery across Riki Wessels who prods forward enough to find the edge and offer a simple catch to Jonny Bairstow.
11am - Derbyshire strike for the second time in the first half-hour as Tony Palladino pins Dean Cosker in front. Glamorgan are seven down with a lead of 245.
10.54am - Tim Murtagh is at it again at Lord's - he prised out Phil Mustard to leave Durham 33 for two. Jade Dernbach has also taken an early wicket at New Road with Daryl Mitchell bowled for three.
10.46am - Yorkshire have an early breakthrough with Michael Lumb adjudged lbw to a Jack Brooks delivery that seamed back as he offered no shot. The Notts batsman is not completely convinced but he has to go.

10.40am - David Lloyd has failed to last the opening over of the day at the SWALEC Stadium as Mark Footitt traps him lbw for a duck. Sam Hain has clicked over to his 150 at Edgbaston.
Nick Browne has fallen in Essex's small chase to secure victory over Kent with Matt Hunn getting the lbw decision.

10am - It's moving day in the LV= County Championship. The destination of the First Division title could be decided today while the picture in the relegation and promotion races should also become clearer. It's must watch:
Yorkshire will look to push for a title-clinching win after reducing Nottinghamshire to 58 for four in reply to their 532 for nine declared at Trent Bridge.
Sussex are just ahead of Lancashire at the BrightonandHoveJobs.com County Ground as they resume on 341 for seven, a first-innings lead of 21 thanks largely to Ed Joyce’s superb 137.
Durham are 28 for one in their second innings, a lead of 129 over Middlesex. The home team were 276 all out at Lord's as Dawid Malan hit 97.
Jonathan Trott and Sam Hain will look to add to fabulous unbeaten centuries when Warwickshire resume on 413 for three - a lead of 140 over Northamptonshire at Edgbaston.
Worcestershire start on 12 without loss in their second innings against Surrey at New Road - a deficit of 122. Jason Roy scored 103 and Jack Shantry took 6-87 in the visitors’ 406 all out.
Essex need 22 runs to complete victory after bowling out Kent for 151 in their second innings.
Leicestershire openers Greg Smith and Angus Robson hit 103 and 97 respectively to help their side close on 246 for two at Bristol, still 400 behind hosts Gloucestershire.
Glamorgan are 145 for five in their second innings at the SWALEC Stadium - a lead of 224 over Derbyshire, for whom Wayne White has 4-27.
