The England and Wales Cricket Board's Cricket Discipline Commission (CDC) today confirmed Steven Croft, Jos Buttler and Matt Coles have received penalties under the ECB's Directives.

Croft was reported by umpires Rob Bailey and Peter Hartley during Lancashire's Royal London One-Day Cup match against Leicestershire on August 21, 2014 for a Level 1 breach of the code: abuse of cricket ground, equipment or fixtures/fittings.

Buttler was reported by umpires Tim Robinson, Neil Mallender, Rob Bailey and Michael Gough during Lancashire's NatWest T20 Blast semi-final against Hampshire on August 23, 2014 for a Level 1 breach of the code: showing dissent at an umpire's decision by word or action.

The penalty for these offences is a reprimand.

Coles was reported by umpires Peter Willey and Martin Saggers during Hampshire's LV= County Championship match against Leicestershire on August 31 – September 3, 2014 for a Level 2 breach of the code: throwing the ball at or near a player, umpire or official in an inappropriate and dangerous manner.

Coles had previously received a reprimand following a Level 1 breach in August 2014. The penalty for a subsequent breach at Level 2 within 24 months is six penalty points.

These penalties will remain on their records for a period of two years and the accumulation of nine or more penalty points in any two-year period will result in an automatic suspension.
