Relegation-threatened Lancashire are battling hard in the Roses clash at Emirates Old Trafford. The Red Rose, for whom Usman Khawaja has 69, are 188 runs behind on 144 for two after leaders Yorkshire declared on 610 for six courtesy of Adam Lyth’s 251 and 159 not out from Adil Rashid.
Riki Wessels is unbeaten on 80 as second-placed Nottinghamshire closed on 197 for four chasing 375 to beat Durham, who were boosted by 100 from Paul Collingwood at the Emirates Durham ICG.
Somerset are trailing by 96 on 38 without loss after Ben Duckett’s unbeaten 144, his maiden first-class ton, helped Northamptonshire declare on 448 for nine at Taunton.
Chris Rogers, Neil Dexter and John Simpson all hit half-centuries as Middlesex closed on 310 for six, still 52 runs in arrears versus Warwickshire at Lord’s.
Ben Slater and Billy Godleman compiled fifties to help Derbyshire close on 145 for two, an advantage of 116 over leaders Worcestershire, who were dismissed for a first-innings 385.
Jimmy Adams struck a stunning 231 and Michael Carberry contributed 110 to an opening stand of 253 as promotion-chasing Hampshire, with 497 for eight, built a healthy lead of 194 over Leicestershire at the Ageas Bowl.
Gareth Rees has 73 of Glamorgan’s150 for three, a lead of 92, after Sam Northeast’s 102 helped Kent post a first-innings 387 at the Spitfire Ground.

6.30pm - Marcus Trescothick and Johann Myburgh, who extended his deal at the county yesterday, survive a tricky nine-over spell to see Somerset to 38 without loss at stumps, 96 runs behind.
Middlesex end day three on 310 for six, trailing Warwickshire by 52.

6.13pm - Adam Wheater is the latest Hampshire batsman to depart, bowled by Charlie Shreck for 17.
Glamorgan close on 150 for three at the Spitfire Ground, leading Kent by 92.
6.09pm - Chesney Hughes and Wayne Madsen take Derbyshire to 145 for two and a lead of 116 over Worcestershire at stumps.

5.56pm - Sheikh collects another as Hampshire push on the accelerator, Sean Ervine finding the hands of deep midwicket.
Middlesex's John Simpson raises his bat for fifty but departs lbw to Keith Barker shortly afterwards.
5.45pm - Northants declare on 448 for nine at Taunton, Duckett finishing unbeaten on 144.
Adams does not last much longer at the Ageas Bowl, becoming Atif Sheikh's first victim for 231.
One brings two at the 3aaa County Ground, where Slater follows opening partner Godleman back to the pavilion for 65. Derbyshire are 100 ahead on 129 for two.
Glamorgan's lead passes 50 as Gareth Rees advances to a half-century.
5.36pm - Glamorgan batsman Chris Cooke cannot replicate his first-innings ton. This time he departs for 30, caught behind off Robbie Joseph.
5.28pm - Adams raises his bat for his fifth Hampshire double-hundred. The skipper has 200 of his side's 399 for four, a lead of 97. A magnificent effort.
Mitchell McClenaghan helped Worcestershire into the lead earlier and now he strikes with the ball, ousting Godleman for 52.

5.08pm - Adil Rashid is the partnership breaker at Emirates Old Trafford. The leg-spinner's brilliant day continues as he takes a return catch to oust Paul Horton one short of fifty.
Worcestershire are struggling for a breakthrough as Slater advances to a half-century, with his stand with Godleman moving to a hundred.
5.02pm - Duckett goes to three figures alongside Azhar Ullah. The youngster reaches the milestone from 165 deliveries. Northants reach 400 for nine.

4.50pm - Recordo Gordon makes another vital breakthrough at Lord's. The paceman, who earlier dismissed Chris Rogers for 85, removes Neil Dexter for 70 to leave Middlesex trailing by 145 on 217 for five.
Can Northants' last man Muhammad Azhar Ullah help Ben Duckett, on 91, to his maiden first-class ton? The former arrives at the crease after Andrew Hall is bowled by Alfonso Thomas to end a 57-run stand.
Horton and Khawaja are keeping Yorkshire at bay at the moment. 72-1 in the 24th over, they have topped a 50 stand.

4.31pm - Michael Lumb is battling hard at the Emirates Durham ICG, moving to a half-century from 89 deliveries. Nottinghamshire, on 96 for three, need him to keep going if they are to chase down 375.
4.25pm - Billy Godleman and Ben Slater take their opening stand to 50. Derbyshire are ahead by 22 at the 3aaa County Ground.
4.12pm - Jimmy Adams' stand of 55 with Will Smith ends when the latter is dismissed by Alex Wyatt for 30. Hampshire, leading by five, are 308 for two.

3.45pm - Middlesex captain Rogers is strangled down the leg side by Recordo Gordon for 85 to end a 127-run partnership with Dexter for the fourth wicket.
Kent have made an early breakthrough against Glamorgan with Claydon bowling William Bragg for six.

3.40pm - Hampshire reach tea having lost just one wicket today - Carberry for his century. Opening partner Adams remains unbeaten on 147 and at 302 for one they are just a run behind Leicestershire.
Derbyshire get through to tea without losing a wicket and have managed to sneak ahead. They are 38 without loss.
3.25pm - Durham have a third wicket. Samit Patel loops a catch back to John Hastings and Notts are 66 for three.
At about the same time title rivals Yorkshire make their first breakthrough with Ryan Sidebottom re-arranging Luis Reece's furniture with a ball that kept slightly low.

3.15pm - Neil Dexter reaches his fifty and then plonks Jeetan Patel over the ropes to bring up the century stand with Rogers. Middlesex are 167 for three.
Kent are all out for 387 so they hold a 58-run lead over Glamorgan. The last two wickets came in consecutive overs with Cosker removing Robbie Joseph before Bull made sure Matt Hunn did not trouble the scorers.

3pm - The title race appears to be taking an important turn. While Yorkshire prepare to begin their assault on Lancashire - with the comfort of a 332-run lead - Notts have lost a second wicket in their chase at Durham. James Taylor shoulders arms and is lbw to Paul Coughlin and the second-placed side are 45 for two.
Hampshire have lost their first wicket at the Ageas Bowl. Carberry exits for 110, caught behind off spinner Jigar Naik, after a 253-run opening stand with his skipper Adams.
2.51pm - Northeast has not lasted too long after reaching his century. He offers a catch to Glamorgan's own first-innings centurion, Chris Cooke, to depart for 102. Dean Cosker gets the wicket.
2.45pm - Yorkshire have declared. Gale calls his batsmen in with the score 610 for six. Rashid finishes unbeaten on 159 and Lancashire need 333 just to make their Roses rivals bat again.

2.01pm - The reputation of Sam Billings continues to gather momentum. He reaches fifty and with Sam Northeast they have now put on a century stand to power Kent beyond Glamorgan's first-innings 329.
1.58pm - Hampshire skipper Jimmy Adams doesn't take long after lunch to bring up his first championship century of the season . He does it with a boundary off Alex Wyatt and repeats the dose in his next over to bring up the 200-run stand with Michael Carberry - who is unbeaten on 82.
1.43pm - Australia coach Darren Lehmann holds the record for the highest score in a Roses match with 252 - Adam Lyth resumes after lunch 16 runs adrift of it.
Lyth's 253-run partnership with Adil Rashid is also a Yorkshire record for the sixth wicket against Lancashire.
1.29pm – Collingwood goes to 100 but is bowled next ball by Ajmal Shahzad. Durham are dismissed for 309 so Notts need 375 to win .

Adam Lyth’s stunning 182 not out put leaders Yorkshire, leading by 118 on 396 for five, in complete control of their Roses battle with Lancashire at Emirates Old Trafford.
Paul Collingwood took three wickets to help dismiss title-chasing Nottinghamshire for just 188 before hitting a crucial unbeaten 38 to hold off a fightback and lead Durham to 196 for seven, a lead of 261, at the Emirates Durham ICG.
Craig Overton took three wickets as Somerset restricted Northamptonshire, trailing by 179, to 135 for four on a rain-hit day at Taunton.
Only seven overs were possible at Lord’s, where Warwickshire declared on 362 for eight versus Middlesex. Rikki Clarke added just one to his overnight 93.
Daryl Mitchell and Tom Fell, with 67 and 70 respectively, shared a second-wicket stand of 125 as leaders Worcestershire limped to 221 for six, 135 runs behind Derbyshire, whose paceman Mark Footitt took 4-61, at the 3aaa County Ground.
