Lancashire all-rounder Wayne White has joined his former club Derbyshire on loan for the remainder of the 2014 season.
The move comes a day after Derbyshire announced the signing of star India batsman of Chetashwar Pujara on a similar deal, with both players being made available for the final four LV= County Championship games of the season.
White left Derbyshire in 2008, after coming through the youth system and now returns following spells at Leicestershire and more recently, Lancashire.
He has played just four championship games at Emirates Old Trafford this season, but has been a key part of Lancashire Lightning's Royal London One-Day Cup campaign, leading the way with 10 wickets in six games.
Derbyshire elite performance director Graeme Welch said: “Wayne is a talented home-grown player who has gone away and proved himself in county cricket since coming through the ranks at Derbyshire.
“He now returns a more experienced and more complete cricketer and – as a Derbyshire lad through and through – he’ll certainly be giving it his all. “This loan agreement gives Wayne the opportunity to showcase himself by turning in some impressive performances.”
