Leicestershire Foxes' Royal London One-Day Cup clash with Northants Steelbacks at Grace Road was abandoned without a ball being bowled.
Both sides collected a point from the game after heavy rain throughout the morning left the outfield waterlogged, and umpires David Millns and Neil Mallender had no alternative but to call the game off at midday.
The washout was a big disappointment for Leicestershire, who were looking to bounce back with a much-needed win after being on the wrong side of a rain-affected game against Yorkshire Vikings on Friday.
But with two games left, at home to Worcestershire and away at Lancashire Lightning, the Foxes still have a chance of finishing in the top four of Group A to earn a quarter-final place.
Northants have three more games to play, the first of them at home to Derbyshire Falcons tomorrow. But to have any real hope of qualifying they would need to win all three. They also have to play Lancashire at Emirates Old Trafford and finish with a home game against Essex Eagles.
