The England and Wales Cricket Board today announced a 13-man England Under-19s squad to play a five-match Royal London one-day international series against South Africa Under-19s.
Yorkshire’s Will Rhodes will once again lead the side, with the series getting underway on August 15 at Edgbaston, following the conclusion of the two-match Test series between the two teams. The second Test match started today at Northampton.
England Development Programme Chairman of Selectors, David Graveney, said: “South Africa are the current Under-19 World Champions in 50-over cricket, so this five-match Royal London ODI series against them presents the perfect opportunity for the selected England players to really test their skills in a challenging environment.
“As evidenced by the drawn first Test match between the two teams at Fenner’s last week, the sides are very evenly matched, so I expect a high-quality, closely contested series.”
