Tillakaratne Dilshan and Jason Roy will be among the star attractions when Surrey begin their Royal London One-Day Cup Group B campaign against Glamorgan at Guildford tomorrow.
Dilshan is in the twilight of a career that has seen him amass more than 8,000 runs in 285 one-day internationals for Sri Lanka at a strike rate of 85.68.
You would expect, then, that the 37-year-old will have no trouble adapting to the switch back to 50 overs from 40, with his mindset of attacking the bowlers unlikely to change.
Roy is 13 years Dilshan's junior but he has overshadowed his experienced team-mate in limited-overs cricket so far this year.
He was the second highest runscorerin the NatWest T20 Blast group stage with 567 runs to help Surrey book a home quarter-final.
Roy will be hoping to continue his impressive season in the longer white-ball format, with Glamorgan in his sights this weekend.
The 24-year-old is joined in the Surrey squad by Aneesh Kapil, George Edwards, Tom Jewell and Arun Harinath, but Kevin Pietersen is not included.
Warwickshire will hope to carry the momentum picked up on their way to the Blast last eight into their match against Middlesex Panthers at Lord's.
Jeetan Patel was Warwickshire's stand-out player in the group stage with 23 wickets - the second highest haul in the country - at an economy rate of 5.63 and he will be a key figure against the Panthers.
Last season's 40-over champions Notts Outlaws start against Sussex Sharks at Horsham and fireworks are expected from two sides coming off the back of sensational T20 run chases.
Alex Hales and James Taylor ensured Notts chased down 201 to beat Yorkshire Vikings by six wickets, while Luke Wright was in sensational form as Sussex stunned Essex Eagles, who set an imposing target of 226.
While those two teams are building towards Blast quarter-finals, Somerset and Durham are simply focusing on improving their one-day fortunes in the cup.
They meet at Taunton, a ground where runs tend to flow, which should guarantee entertainment for specators heading down for their first taste of Royal London One-Day Cup action.
