Glamorgan captain Jim Allenby believes his side can match the star-studded line-up of Surrey when they battle it out in the NatWest T20 Blast tomorrow night.
The Brown Caps travel to the SWALEC Stadium with stellar names such as Kevin Pietersen, Hashim Amla and Jason Roy in their side.
But the Welsh county, who are currently third in the South group after three wins, have been doing plenty of entertaining themselves so far this season, none more so than their thrilling tie with Kent last week.
And Allenby’s performances have been as good as anyone’s, having already notched three half-centuries, including a majestic unbeaten 96 against Somerset.
He said: “Friday’s match against Surrey is huge for us, they are a big club with some big names in their line-up and we’re especially looking forward to welcoming the likes of KP and Amla.
"However, we have a lot of quality players too and a home win would put us in a strong position as we reach the half way stage in the tournament.
“We’ve had some good results already with victories over Somerset, Hampshire and Sussex and the two home games we’ve played have been great for the spectators.
“I am confident that we can go on to have a successful season this year with plenty of runs scored which is great for supporters.”
Surrey, who have won three and lost two of their opening five games of the group stage, will be hoping that Roy continues his fine form of recent weeks.
The 23-year-old has hit half-centuries in four of his five innings in the Blast while also made an unbeaten 121 in last week’s LV= County Championship victory over Gloucestershire.
